Bank Holiday Weekend Double Header

Evening all,
 

Here's a selection of images from what has been a busy bank holiday weekend, attending Duxford on Saturday and Bruntingthorpe yesterday. Duxford was something of a mixed bag in terms of participation, but what was good was very good, none more so than the Rafale, which was just about the finest fast jet demo I've seen. The magnificent Sea Vixen was displayed beautifully as ever, absolutely gutting to hear the news break as the show ended. I adore the jet and sincerely hope she can fly once again.

For the last couple of years, I've felt Bruntingthorpe has lost a little of its charm. Happily, yesterday's event suggests its back to its brilliant best, with the longer crowdline catering for the ever increasing number of visitors, good weather and the lack of large scale models that so often got in the way undoubtedly the contributing factors.

Great shots from both locations. Hard to pick a favourite! Thanks for sharing.

 

I went to Duxford on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Like you, I thought the Rafale display was much more exciting and dynamic than the Typhoon (not to mention the fact that it looked better, too!)
