AIRFIX 1/48 STUKA

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon everyone, time for the latest finished build.

Here we have the Airfix 1/8 JU87 Stuka.Built purely out uf the box,no extras. As usual painted with the hairy stick with standard humbrol enamels.

Found it to be a good fitting, enjoyable kit to build with no major issues. Can't help thinking there should be a swastika on the tail or at least something.

Beautifully painted and finished! I'd struggle to get a finish like that with an airbrush.

Cant wait to have a go at the one I've got in the stash.

Nice Stuka.

If you plan to build a lot of German aircraft from this period, an after-market sheet of swastikas in assorted sizes and styles is probably worth the investment, since so many kit manufacturers have now stopped including swastikas on their decal sheets - presumably because their display is illegal under some circumstances in certain countries. (AFAIK, accurate historical models would fall outside the area of application of these laws, but I guess many kit manufacturers would rather steer clear of the whole issue.)
