Recommended Posts

Fingers crossed, Bill. Glad to know you had a great time.

That sanding tool looks very smart  (it has to, if it comes from Mr. Friday himself  )

Ciao

I needed to smooth off raised up filler surfaces and remembered a device I believe it was him, Steve Fritag used back awhile

A frame with a strip of abrasive material across it, the (might be ) polishing file holder

Maybe Bill - I've had the Flex-I-File frame and strips  more or less ever since I came back into the hobby - so I must have used it sometime :D But I prefers the engineuity ingenooity cleverness of the Bill-brand home brew example :)

Them wings is looking the business.

I really would like to avoid having to fill them holes tho'.  I think I may risk sacrificing my 0.3mm drills on the alter of trying to drill tiny weeny no-need-to-fill holes on the wings for my VGs....

It's good following in perdu-pioneering footsteps.......

I will not be drilling round holes again for any vgs that might make their welcome way into my grateful mitts

(seek oiley expression smiley quickly)    :smirk:

I am contemplating using the ubiquitous 10A to engrave (dig) a triangular, pointy straight in slot in the wing and cut the little tab at a suitable angle to make the fit, straight in

Practice will ensue forthwith

OK after Telford obviously

Tomo, these are 0.023" of a inch diamotor but a little flat 'rectangle' (if you think about it) leaves flipping big almost semicircles that just aren't an efficient method of bunging 'em on

I will try the digging a hole next using the Number10A method, see how it goes

(a problem I already foresee is little bust off steel points dug in where I need a space small enough to make a snug fit)

:worry:

Drawbacks, there's always one

or more

I have been making the flap actuators, a handsome pair of forgings forsooth

Matchbox gave me a couple of little shapes that are supposed to represent them and the pushrods which were a: inaccurate to the nth degree and b: in the bally way when I was sanding underwings

So I cut out a couple of little angled forgings

P1140047.jpg

The slot for the pushrod was simply a little outlined bit of styrene but I have drilled them out for the AlbionAlloys 0.03mm pushrods I'm fitting next

P1140051.jpg

The brackets have been tidied up and the slots now put in

I am not intending fitting the chrome pushrods til later after painting the wings

Sadly the inevitable has occured

P1140044.jpg

P1140046.jpg

One of Fritag's vgs has done one, oops six left now

Oh well I can safely say, that's yer lot

No mo' til next week

You'll deserve a good week Holiday once you're done with those little sweethearts!!!!:rage::lol::lol::lol:

Well...I didn't type "sweetharts"but something a bit ruder, starting with Bast and ending with ards.

I like it anyway!!!

From Now on I'll use "sweetharts"!!!!

It sounds more...elegant!

You'll still deserve a Holiday!!!!!

Great to see you all folks

Steve was introduced to his brilliant vortex generators

And Crisp, Keith, Tomo, Nigel, Ced, Mark, Whofan and so many more I didn't get name checks made.

Whilst my memory fade might make me seem uncaring I am not

There was a redheaded lady around too. 😊

I am sorry but just a tad pleased with the comp judges, my Wasp has been given the 4+ trophy, this excitement is part of why the names are lost in my memory. 😕😬😩😧

Congratulations on the Trophy for your Wasp which was greatly deserved.

Unfortunately I couldn't make Telford this year due to prior commitments but sounds like your ALL having a great time!

It was a bl**dy brilliant example of the model makers art Bill.  I thought it looked good in the pictures in the WIP.  But they completely failed to do justice to just how good its looked live.....

Thank you guys, appreciated

I just realised I missed Tony, the Baron and his son and even forgot to name check our own favourite Martian

Please place me in the sin bin

With a certain General who has inherited a forfeit today...

Me?

I'm claiming Telford overload as the reason

I mean, forgetting to name check the Baron and Mart

Guilty plea entered

Sentence to be proclaimed later

Congrats from me too.

It was (and remains) a thing of beauty.

We had Grand Daughter No1 to look after today. (Delightful!)

Tomorrow we have a lunch commitment.

Monday, Work is sending two of us to Brum in a beer truck!

Just missed it. Maybe next year.

Glad to know you had a great time, guys

And Bill, congrats on that prize  I'm not really into 'copters, but that WASP is a real stunner :worthy:

Group photo, anybody? :)
