Turbine_Man
Due to storage space I have tried my hand a 1/72 scale. here is Academy OOB of their F/A18A+. Nice kit that goes together well with very little troubles.. Painted with Mr Hobby colours but slightly the wrong shades. Thanks for looking Edited June 30, 2017 by Turbine_Man Photobucket change in 3rd party hosting
jean
Hi, beautiful looking F-18! I am not a great fan of overall grey aircraft, so I cannot comment on the slightly wrong shade of greys... To me, it looks convincing and top notch. The Academy F-18 is the only one I'd consider buying, and to do the very exact scheme you made. The only other F-18 I ever made was the Hasegawa 1/72 prototype, all white with blue and gold trims. A nightmare to remove the dust from! Congrats on a build well done JR
Orion
Hello Turbine, Your F-18 looks great. Do not worry about shades. If you are happy with it, in the garage and on with the next one. Are you a member of a local model club? Regards, Orion/The Netherlands.
Turbine_Man
Thanks guys for the comments.. had some issue with the Tamiya flat coat which makes the paint look heavy and thick.. trying out some new techniques as well.. used pastels and water for washes.... the next one is going to be a f-15c so again a grey one... not a memeber of any clubs out here.. workshop is not a garage but my balcony and this hobby keeps me out of the bars..which is a good thing..lol
