A beauty from The Emerald Isle! - Douglas DC-4

Recommended Posts

Great looking DC-4.

Why Minicraft has done the DC-series so well, and yet borked the Boeing airliners is a mystery for the ages.

I too have an interest in Irish aviation and would like to do a Roden Britannia with 26 decals for Aer Turas.

But I am not so sure I would use them again on my next DC-4

I think the wing markings do add some more interest to the wings.

Your next DC-4? Maybe you could build a TMA machine with a bike and 14 year old plane spotter standing next to it watching the wings being hosed down!!

Looking forward to more John!

Cheers,

Ian

Getting ready for a quick exit if it all goes pear shaped !

Lovely build. By coincidence, I've just started building the same kit in the same marking. I'm a bit young to remember EI-AOR but I certainly remember EI-ARS, which Aer Turas operated until 1976.

I have a set of Aer Lingus marking for the Carvair which are from S&M Decals.

Now you've given me an idea Ian! Just pinch one of the etched brass bikes out of my sons N guage railway, a bit of wall & fence, and a train spotter.

We get an approximation of young bzn20 at the airfield. Not TMA I'm afraid, Aer Turas will have to do;

;)  :smile: Oh I'm easily amused!
