upnorth
I'm looking forward to seeing that one "In the flesh" at the base open day at Čáslav this Saturday. Hopefully, I can get some good pictures of it despite the fact that rain is forcast all day.

upnorth
And here it is "In the flesh" at Čáslav yesterday. As you can see, they got the red and white in the roudels and fin flash filled in since the earlier pictures:
upnorth
The L-159 was painted specifically to mimic the markings of a Spitfire Vb flown by General František Peřina. A Czechoslovak pilot who served in both the French air force and RAF during WWII and was in his later years named a patron of 212 Squadron, the unit that flies the L-159. The man was quite a story: https://fcafa.com/2011/01/29/frantisek-perina/ If you scroll down to the comments section, there's a ton of other good links to follow for more details on him and some quite enlightening details about the Munich Agreement.
Vultures1
Nice! I think that "Spitfire scheme" works pretty well on the L-159. The red dope "gun ports" are a nice touch
Valkyrie
It looks great in that scheme. They have just finished refurbishing Frantisek Hekl's spitfire which crashed into Loch Doon near where I live in 1941. Massive respect for the Czech's from WWII and this L-39 is nice to see especially at this time. Thanks for posting this
