Bughunter
After it looks like, that not only one person here like my style of modeling I like to show a Fokker E.V, which I finished a year ago. Again in 1/48, again a great kit of Eduard, enhanced by my usual wooden air screw, Oberursel rotary engine mad by Small Stuff, LMG 08/15 from Master, HGW fabric seatbelts and some Gaspatch turnbuckles. The painting was done with Gunze and Alclad and oils, especially the wing. Happy modelling! Bughunter
Thanks for your comments 19 hours ago, Gerrardandrews said: Very Very nice, hope it has a lovely base and living behind glass😊 No, it has no base, same with my other models, because they are shown in a huge wall mounted glass cabinet with a glare-free LED illumination from front up and down. So a base would kill part of the light. 18 hours ago, limeypilot said: Very nicely done, love that prop! My template was a picture of wikimedia.org: So I tried to match this with 3 kinds of wood: The difference between the next to pictures is only angel and light: Some further details ... with PE from Master the 08/15 was formed and with chemical black-oxid finish: Cockpit Turned and soldered brass for fuel caps looks great: Regards, Frank

Alex, a special for your exceptional praise! This are great times for model builders: I have to thank Eduard for the fine kit as a basis, but also the manufactures of those fantastic add-ons! Stay tuned for my other models! Frank
pheonix
I agree with Alex- you are a true master modeller as all of your models show. P

Buzby061
Exquisite. I've got an Eduard 1/48 Nieuport 17 on the go but I'm quite confident that it won't be up to your standards. Pete
stevehed
Like it, particularly the wing colours which conform with the latest research. Regards, Steve

Steve, do you have a link or ressource for me? The wing was painted in January 2016, at first in the usual green/brown: And during drying of the oils a friend told me, that he thinks, it doesn't make sense. Brown/green was not allowed by germans due to likelihood of confusion with french aircrafts, so it should be like the Albatros and other in green/violet. One questions remains: the known Fokker parts list of wood stains. This mentioned also brown, but he thinks this was used inside the wing to improve the resistance against water. Finally he gave me this known paintings recolored by himself and I was able to remove the oils and started again with the results in the first post. So if you have any confidence of that theory I will be really interested in any hint! Thank you very much, Frank

stevehed
Hi Frank, I pretty sure that the late Dan San Abbott was the source. This thread was posted on the Aerodrome. http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13469 Regards, Steve
