Josip
Hi! I just got a hold of this kit. Impressive beast. But I'm not sure which version does it depict? B was an earlier version that came in 1943 and still had the shorter wingspan, while the G was the final, somewhat slower version with prolonged wings. So what's in the box? Thank you! Work In Progress
Good question. The kit is a long wing variant so without serious modification can only form the basis of a late B, or a C or later. http://modelingmadness.com/review/allies/us/kolb26.htm Late B models had the long wing, according to this: http://b26mhs.bizland.com/index.php/archive/marauder-basics/aircraft-variants Edited May 15, 2017 by Work In Progress
Josip
Pheeew! Lots of homework. It would be embarrasing for me to assemble and paint it as the wrong version. Thank you! Josip
Don McIntyre
If you want to do an earlier version of the B-26 check out Lonestar Models site. You'll need to scroll down a ways: http://www.lonestarmodels.com/conversions-1-48.html
tonyot
I did a conversion of this kit into a Marauder Mk.I with short wings, tail fin etc using the Lonestar conversion and it was quite hard work, here is my WIP if you are interested;. As for the kit from the box,.....I would say a late B is the best bet, it also includes the earlier style rear gun position. The later variants had the entire wing re angled, resulting in the engine nacelles pointing further upwards, Cheers Tony

The Monogram IIRC has the flat wing.

The Monogram IIRC has the flat wing. The B-26F and G both had the angle of incidence of the wings increased. B-26's earmarked for the MTO had a collector for spent shell cases fitted under the tail turret position beginning with B-25C-25's. I have attached a kink that lists all the changes in the Marauder variants that you might find a good modeling reference. Boman
From the decal options, this should be a "long wing" https://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits/rm/kit_rm_5506.shtml https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_B-26_Marauder#Variants Edited May 16, 2017 by Boman
