1/35 Semovente da 90/53

Recommended Posts

I finished something! Well, almost. I built this Semovente da 90/53, using an old Zvezda kit of the Italian Self-propelled gun M40 75/18 as a starting point. Dark gray bits are Zvezda, with Friulmodel tracks and the rest scratch-built using plans from an old FineScale Modeler magazine.

Paint at the moment is a light sand scheme but I see that multi-colour camouflage was worn by these SPG's so I will maybe do that as a future project, plus add some weathering and a better wash. For now I'm happy to have something that looks roughly like it's meant to.

Have to say that this is a new one on me but that's a cracking build. Doing all of those rivets/bolt heads must have been fun.

Excellent scratch-building. Nice to see something different.

It looks a damn sight better than that to me!

What the others said! It almost seems a shame to paint it!

It would look lovely just sprayed aluminium and given a dark wash. Why haven't I seen anyone do that to an AFV?

Rearguards,

Thanks all for your kind comments: I don't do that many AFV's but like something a bit different if I do.
