Hi All,

Welcome! I had a wonderful, mojo restoring Tamiya Mossie build in ten days, a month ago. I believe yours is gonna be a huge success too 👍. V-P

Thanks VP. I have really blitzed through this kit - I think I was enjoying it so much I just kept going and going.

Well here is the first update. Unfortunately I forgot to take photos whilst building the cockpit or while gluing the model together.

I will tell you all what I did. I built the cockpit OOB using the decals provided for seatbelts. I then attached the fuselage together and waited for an hour before applying Tamiya Basic Putty (the Grey one) and let that dry for 2 hours.

I painted the propeller first and the landing gear using Humbrol enamels.

20170504_092550_RichtoneHDR_zpsnyfcezaq.

I then painted the model fuselage and wings in one go with Humbrol Enamels.

Here it is

20170501_215551_RichtoneHDR_zpsh9innmve.

20170501_215559_RichtoneHDR_zps4xp367xj.

The panel lines were highlighted using a Copic multiliner marker with 0.03mm tip. These are specially designed to be used on paint. The lines are a bit dark, but I am not too fussed about accuracy here.

Here is a look at the cockpit

I started work on the canopy as well

The model was then gloss coated using Pledge Floor care

At the rate I am going this model will be finished tomorrow. I think the Mojo is coming back! Its good to just build a kit using basic techniques and not worrying too much about over detailing at times. I'm having a lot of fun with this one.

Hopefully tomorrow I will have the completed kit!

I would like to clarify I am no accuracy buff here nor do I want to be one - building decent models is the goal, decent paint job, decent build, decent finish.

I hope you all liked the update, as always all comments welcome.

This what you call a quick build  you're going to be first past the finish line for sure.

All the best

"Full steam ahead" This mojo restorer was a real quick one.

Looks great !

Thanks Greg and BerndM.

The Mojo is back for sure! This is the final update, as the kit is complete now.

So I did up the decals on top of the gloss coat and added the canopy which took a while to get right.

20170504_222338_RichtoneHDR_zpsjy03hmuo.

20170504_222347_RichtoneHDR_zpszjqy9wtv.

20170504_222358_RichtoneHDR_zpscqlemduz.

20170504_222428_RichtoneHDR_zpsqg6enmup.

A matte coat was then applied - I use a commercial one seen below, this gives more of a sheen effect which I prefer over this aircraft as opposed to using my Alcad II matte coat.

And here is the final result:
