You must be peased with this one Greg as the weathering is superb and for a single colour top has plenty of intrest .

Thanks Alistair,

It's turned out well so far. I will only add a little more weathering once the Matt coat goes on. So once the last parts are added there's not much left to finish.

Cheers

Immaculate painting and weathering. Superbly done. :worthy:

Kind regards,

Hi Stix,

Many thanks for the kind comments.

Weathering on desert aircraft needs to be subtle so I will need to be careful I don't overdo this when finishing up. Its easy (for me) to get carried away sometimes :worry:

Cracking build, mate. Looks just right to me, weathering not overdone and the decals look like painted on.

Thanks for the positive comments mate :thanks:

I was particularly pleased with the way the decals behaved, especially the little ones, as of late I have had lots of silvering.

Cheers

Good decals adds a lot to the look of the result. Revell gets often a lot of critism but their decals are very good quality. Together with good color coats you will have a great ending.

Looking the biz Greg, that one colour scheme really suit's the 109.

Cheers Steve,

I also like the desert colours, especially on the allied stuff too. A P-40 in RAF desert airforce markings always looks great.

The spotty schemes for the earlier 109's look stunning too.

:thanks:

So there you have it, not the best kit of the 109 available but it builds up with some effort in to a good replica if you persevere. The kit decals are to be recommended and performed really well. I finished the model off with Humbrol weathering powders for the exhaust stains bad the dusty wheels and on some of the flying control surfaces.

Thanks for looking, and all the comments over my build. More pics in the gallery.

Cheers Greg 😉

Nice to see the white tyre side walls as not many people do these .

Hi Alistair,

Thanks for that. I was in two minds about the white walls on the tyres as I was unsure if this particular machine had them. However there is documentation to suggest some desert 109's did so I gave it a go.

Cracking job all round Greg, this kit has had a bad press at times but here's proof it's very buildable and so well too!

Thanks Steve!

Glad you like it, and thanks for the support during the build 😉
