DH Vampire FB 5 Heller SQN 112 RAF

Good evening

 Today I started my 4th build for this Gb the old but still very good Vampire Fb 5 produced by Heller in 1979

This build will be OOB , I will just place a pilot

I started by painting the cockpit interiror in black , I  placed the seat and painted the instrument panel

Good evening all

 

Yesterday  I placed some weight in the nose and closed the fuselage halves and today I placed the wings ..

I will poste pics tomorrow ..

Patrice,

 

Great to see you making the lovely old Heller kit and doing it justice.

 

Word of caution, there is some debate as to the colour of the sharks mouth for the 112Sqn markings.  Modeldecal issued a corrected version of these markings based upon information from an ex-squadron member, see this thread here

Matchbox never did a Vampire although Revell did issue the Heller kit, if you compare your respective kits you should see they're the same.

Very nice Patrice (as always)!  Looks just like the ex-Swiss Vampire that was on the airshow circuit in those markings.  Good job :thumbsup2:

I agree with you Heller made great kits I started building plastic model kits when I was 8 years old and I built a lot of Heller kits (as well as Airfix and Matcbox ) ..
