Paint problems

Hi everyone

I'm  having a problem when brush painting my models, I use acrylic paints which mostly consist of humbrol and revell and various others, when ever I paint I always wash my kits, I don't use primer (though I will now) but if I leave the paint to set overnight, it can be easily scratched off! Does anyone know how to stop this?

As you say, primer. Preferably something solvent based, like a spray primer (Halfords, Tamiya, Gunze, etc).

Water based acrylics don't have the best adhesion to bare plastic.

You might also try using Clear / Future to thin the paints when you brush them - this will give them a bit more "sticking" power too. Although as others have said - a primer coat will really help. Some kind of automotive spray can primer should do the trick - but make sure its OK to use on plastic ( most are acrylic nowadays anyway)
