shood23
So a little more has actually been done to this before I move on with it. The decals on the body are finished. I will have to wait a little bit though until my decal paper turns up to make some more decals for a few that were massively oversized on the rear quarter panels but its no big deal. With the wing on And other than the decals that took me far longer than they should have I have progressed with the interior by gluing the roll cage in and the dash on. There is plenty of room to manoeuvre the seat and other little bits in. Hopefully now the mini mes are back at school now I should be able to take the gun out of my mouth and move my builds on quicker. shood23
So finally after a couple of weeks I have started to show this build some love but honestly it's in a stage now where I am just waiting on the body before I can progress properly. The body has been clear coated with 2-3 coats and been cut back with micro mesh 3600 now I'm just waiting on the weather to cool a little as my work area get incredibly hot from midday onwards. And finally I have managed to be in for an order from hiroboy for once so my paint stocks have been replenished which includes the gold i needed for the wheel centres. There not finished yet and still need at least one more coat and the centres finishing. And that's it really as the interior can only be completed once the body is ready and the floor pan is finished so hopefully in a couple of days I can have so proper work to do with this. Borez
Lovely work mate. Same as you though, it's just been too hot in my loft studio to anything lately. Edited June 23, 2017 by Borez
shood23
Thanks for the kind words guys. And borez it's mad my work area got over 40 a couple of days ago and it's only been today when it's stayed under 30 but with my luck this only happens on the day where I need to sleep most of the day as work needs me to be up until 4-5 tomorrow morning. shood23
Right so this update has taken far too long to sort out due to photobucket ransoming my pictures to the tune of $400 so I've had to use a new hosting service for these pictures and I will get around to changing all of them on my current builds over the next few days or hopefully photobucket realise they are going to lose a massive amount of custom by trying to make your every day man fork at a ridiculous amounts for what is at best a mediocre service. So enough of photobucket and on with my build. The last few days I have been finishing off the body shell to get it ready to be mounted on the the chassis. Window surrounds were painted, rather badly but it's not an issue as I will be roughing up the car anyway, and the last few bits to the inner sides were done. Finally I mounted the roll cage in the right place. And then I was able to stick the body on the floor pan and start doing some of the little parts like the lights. The orange is a little hard to tell on the red. All the clear parts were painted with tamiya clear colours through an airbrush and have turned out really nice. From the rear and I am so glad I changed the wheels. The rear light Today I got the headlight inners painted. And stuck on the air intakes next to the blinkers. The rear light part went in. And finally just a side shot to show how close this is to being completed More soon Shaun

shood23
That is for the comments guys. Honestly I'm just glad you can see it now as it's just taken me near enough an hour to go back through from the start and replace all the old photo bucket pics with the new flickr ones. shood23
So a little more done today after the airbrush was fully cleaned. The headlight lenses have had a coat of clear yellow put over them for a look a little more like the real car. I'm just now in this annoying stage of a build where I'm spending more time waiting for things to dry than actually sticking thing on. shood23
So before it got to hot today in my work area I managed to get the lights on properly and I have to say they look pretty good compared to the real one. And the real one Also I have finished shaping the little secondary lights and put a layer of primer over them. More soon Shaun
PatW
Superb Shaun, my favourite car the 911, both on the road and on the track. I recently tested a GT3 version on a private track, very difficult to get in and out with the rollcage and with no interior trim it was a shade loud, but great fun. shood23
Thanks pat I have to admit the older 911s are quickly becoming a favourite shape of mine. So a little update to the build. The rubber lines between the bumpers and the body have now been painted. They are far from perfect but I have a plan to make them look a little better. The mirrors have now been painted, had the decals put on, clear coated and put on the car. The rear wing plane has been stuck on. And finally I noticed that I missed a decal off the back so I very carefully added it and hand painted tamiya clear over it and polished it up to take the brush strokes out. Only a few more things to so now and it's done. More soon Shaun
shood23
A little further along today making this the last update maybe before the car is fully finished. The secondary headlights are all but done now and will go on to the car in the next day or so once the glue has dried on the lenses. And if I built the car as the box tells you to then it would be complete now, minus the bbs rims. Shaun
