PhotoBucket are no longer permitting 3rd party hosting   01/07/17

As most of you are now painfully aware, Photobucket (PB) are stopping/have stopped allowing their members to link their accumulated years of photos into forums and the like, which they call 3rd party linking.  You can give them a non-refundable $399 a year to allow links, but I doubt that many will be rushing to take them up on that offer.  If you've previously paid them for the Pro account, it looks like you've got until your renewal to find another place to host your files, but you too will be subject to this ban unless you fork over a lot of cash.   PB seem to be making a concerted move to another type of customer, having been the butt of much displeasure over the years of a constantly worsening user interface, sloth and advertising pop-ups, with the result that they clearly don't give a hoot about the free members anymore.  If you don't have web space included in your internet package, you need to start looking for another photo host, but choose carefully, as some may follow suit and ditch their "free" members at some point.  The lesson there is keep local backups on your hard drive of everything you upload, so you can walk away if the same thing happens.   There's a thread on the subject here, so please use that to curse them, look for solutions or generall grouse about their mental capacity.   Not a nice situation for the forum users that hosted all their photos there, and there will now be a host of useless threads that relied heavily on photos from PB, but as there's not much we can do other than petition for a more equitable solution, I suggest we make the best of what we have and move on.  One thing is for certain.  It won't win them any friends, but they may not care at this point.    Mike.

Anyone Into Nitto's Fledermaus?

Just picked up a Nitto Fledermaus (1/20) from ebay..........it's been many years since I built my first one.  I checked the first 10 pages of commentary, and it appears nobody has built one.

But on the original topic,  I built one of those years ago.  I don't remember having any real difficulty with the build.

Lucky you!

They seem to be going for crazy prices and I haven't seen

one for some time anyway.

There is a limited following for Ma.k on this forum but if you

do a WIP then I for one will be watching it.

Blimey! That brings back memories. I’ve got a half made one knocking around up in the loft somewhere along with a few of the original Ma.K kits.

Excellent multi-media kits for their time (well, springs and wires etc.)

I’m in a bit of a Sci-Fi mood at the moment, so I might just blow the cobwebs off it (assuming I can find it first!).;)

I’ll pop up there tomorrow, but it’s a bit like the wardrobe in the ‘Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe’. So it could be years until I see merry England again.

I’ll see if I can pick up a Sherpa, 100ft of stout rope, emergency flares and some night vision goggles on the way home from work....

Sandwiches and a bottle of cold tea

might be a good idea.

If you're not back in two weeks we'll

send the sniffer dogs in.

(They're trained to find Nitto kits and

bring them back to me. Mwahahaha!)

After the Pigmy attack, the Sherpa nearly succumbed to his wounds and was forced to head back to base camp. Stoic in my resolve I headed on alone. After a brief fight with a bloke with a hat and a whip with what looked like a glass skull in his hand, I spied my goal.  Blowing the dust off, I opened the cobweb festooned crate…..

WP_20170418_17_30_17_Pro.jpg (Don't even remember owning that PBY?)

Wrong box! I shook my fist to the Heavens and cursed the gods….. With a heavy heart I began the long trek back to the small square of light that I knew meant salvation and the possibility of a hot mug of coffee…..

It was then that a landslide of cardboard revealed more hidden treasures………

Including a nondescript brown box camouflaged against the others with the immortal words ‘Nitto’ and ‘MA.K’ carved upon it. The gods had heard my anguished cries and rewarded me thusly…..

‘Hold on’ thinks I, I’ve got a Krote knocking about somewhere:hmmm:. I searched in vain, but the allure of caffeinated beverages had taken hold. I marked the area with a buoy fitted with a powerful strobe light, and decided to return at a later date.

Upon reaching civilisation once again, I liked my lips, took a deep breath and carefully opened my prize.

Well blow me……

Mart,

Jealous green glows my heart

as the fates burn my ambitions.

or something.

Nice little collection.

I like the Ma.k stuff (obviously)

and I've never seen the Glaug before

(though I know of the Regult) but I like that too.

The Cousteau Catalina could be worth

a few bob on t'internet to someone.

Will you now be building up the fledermaus & krote?

Not in the short term. I’ve been watching way too much Gundam recently, and want to crack on with a few of those (along with all the 1/700 ships, aircraft, etc. in the ‘to do’ pile). I’ll stick the maus and krote somewhere more accessible, but I will get them done.:thumbsup2:

Found this geezer in my hunt.

Whoa,  whoa,  whoa!! First off, there is no such thing as "too much Gundam."  Especially now that there are so many great new shows.

Second, you got a Hellhound and a Jigabachi?  I embarrassed the wife when I yelled 'Jigabachi!!' during the recent GitS movie.  All I can say is...
