You guys make me scream sometimes, which is somewhat ironic as that's exactly what you will be doing when I introduce you to my ray gun! :shoot:

Well, sometimes the pussy cat is more like a sabre-toothed tiger who's had a particularly steep bill from a dentist he didn't like very much in the first place!

  • 2 weeks later...

Its been a while, I've been forced to take a break in Spain

Figures are still WIP, thanks for all your suggestions.

I've been working on the ladders from the main deck to the quarter deck

P1080260.jpg

Showing here how I clamp small items together

P1080262.jpg

Propped in position

P1080265.jpg

I made the ladders in the same way as I used on MGB658, 13 pieces per ladder

Thanks for looking in

(Hoping there is actually something to see as I've had enough of photobucket)

That's looking good Kev, especially the last picture. You can actually copy and paste Postimage pictures on to your threads. You will find it is a gazillion times better than Phototurd. Can't find too much sympathy for you having to go to Spain though.

Thanks for the tip o' heartless one.......

Do you load images onto Postimage at a lower quality than the camera takes?

Not looking for sympathy just a return ticket

See you're offering Reconcilor support what's he done to upset you ....

Not that I am aware of, the quality seems to be just as good as Photobucket.

As to Reconcilor, why am I not surprised that you are the first to cast doubts on the value of my support? In fact, I was just wondering how long it would be before you did. :tease:

Hi Kev I have been using Post Image for a little while now all you need to do is insert other media from bottom right of page and then copy image address from the host Post image page and then paste in to the text box

I think it is a little bit better to post than PB and you can adjust the size of your photos you want to post just take a bit of getting used to but keep away from the dodge adverts of big worms  :tmi:

An interesting read and if you had not thought of building a boat full of character, you will after you've seen the contents. I reckon there is pretty much everything you need to scratch build a steam coaster

Found I had a slight warp in the bulwark, so pinned to a straight edge. Immersed in hot water for a couple of minutes

P1080271_(Copy).jpg

P1080272_(Copy).jpg

Then cold, et voila straight bulwark

P1080274_(Copy).jpg

Working on the stbd bulwark and I thought I'd show you how I make goose neck vents

First step anneal brass rod, this means heating until cherry red. This softens the brass. To harden heat to cherry red and quench in water.

Then form the bend around a pin

P1080275_(Copy).jpg

I find parallel pliers invaluable for this type of work and PE (Not that I'm an expert. I just need all the help I can get)

P1080276_(Copy).jpg

Final forming around material thickness equal to gap between two legs

Heads up

I have for some time been using PCB micro drills (0.3 to 0.6mm) obtainable from China for pence. Value I thought except they are very brittle and snap it you look at them wrong.

I thought I'd try something different

http://www.proopsbrothers.com/5-x-titanium-coated-hss-drill-bits-metric-7699-p.asp

Available in packs of 2,5 & 10 and a huge range of sizes

I have been using 0.3,0.4 & 0.5 regularly for 6 weeks and have not broken one.

PCB on left 0.3mm on right

Thanks for stopping by
