RussG
Hi All, Two in one day, I'm on a roll! This model represents Typhoon IB EK140 QC-K flown by 168 Squadron in Autumn 1944. During this period 168's Typhoons aircraft were being used exclusively as fighters and carried no racks beneath the wings. The actual photo of this aircraft can be found in Phil Listemann's book 'RAF, Dominion and Allied Squadrons at War: Study, History and Statistics - 168 Squadron' I hope you like it, Russ

Christer A
Looks a little naked without bombs or rockets, but otherwise it's a good model! Very nice!
BerndM
A very nice build and looks good in this clean configuration. Maybe a bit "unfamilar"
stevehnz
Nice Russ, I like that. Was 168 with ADGB rather than 2nd Tactical Air Force at the time? It looks good in that scheme. Steve.
Doc72
A fine model! I also like Listemann's publications. They make good reference. To try to answer Steve's question: According to Listemann No 168 moved to the continent placed under a RCAF wing, but unusually for a Typhoon squadron provided escort for the other Typhoons of the wing instead of carrying bombs or rockets (therefore, Russ' model is very correct in the clean configuration). So, I guess No 168 belonged to 2nd TAF.
RussG
Thanks for the feedback everyone! Yes, Doc72 is correct, 168 Squadron was with the 2nd TAF and was in mid to late 44 used to provide fighter escort hence the clean configuration. My only variation from Listermanns photo is that I have left the D Day stripes solid whereas the photo clearly shows an attempt to scrub them clean, although they are very much in evidence.
