I first saw this in William Green's pocketbook, War Planes of the Second World War - Fighters Vol.1., published in 1960. It only took 57 years to see it finished.

I like the way you've done this 109 – beautiful finish. How was the Fine Moulds kit, do you mind me asking?

Did anyone else notice the tail wheel in the photo of the original? Must've been reverse-parked...

David

David, in my opinion the Fine Molds kit is by far the best 109 in 1/72 scale, and among the best in any scale.

Thanks! Sounds like an endorsement... I'll have to look around to see if they do some Emil versions.

Regards,

David

Again, thanks to everyone for the compliments. David, Fine Molds make the following variants: F-2,  F-4, F-4 Trop, G-2, G-4, G-6, G-10 and K-4, but no Emils. If you're buying a G-6, get the Finnish version since it has both the standard and Erla canopies. There have also been a few releases with special markings, metal tubes for the 20mm guns or pilot figures. My favorite 1/72 109 Emil kit is Tamiya.
