Greg in OK
Just finished the Matchbox Siskin. I am impressed by the excellent engineering these kits had. Fun build, landing gear was a bit of a terror, but still fun. Greg in OK

Bell209
I built one of these as a teenager - but it didn't come out anything like as nice as yours!
old thumper
Very nice, I will have to get my hands on one of these kits.
rholland
Lovely build. I have found that this is an excellent kit for a first attempt at rigging, maybe give it a go? Richard in NZ

Darby
Gotta love a Matchbox kit. I last did a Siskin in '81 in Brunswick/Emerald green all over camo complete with Czech roundels. What was I thinking?
Black Knight
Just now, Darby said: ... in Brunswick/Emerald green all over camo complete with Czech roundels. What was I thinking? That it would be fun to do it that way?
alex
Fully agree, I did a Siskin with some rigging, detailling the engine and replacing some parts with finer scratch built part. A gem of a kit! It's a bit of a shame that revell still haven't released it yet under their own brand. Alex
fightersweep
Love the build! Thanks for sharing! This just sums up why I love Matchbox kits. I think this was the first biplane build I ever tackled, and thanks to their superb engineering, I actually made a half decent job of it (well this 12 year old thought so at the time!) I also wouldn't have known what a Siskin was, so thanks to Matchbox (and I suspect more likely thanks to Maurice Landi), for fueling my interest in the wonderful world of inter-war RAF aircraft. I feel all warm and fuzzy now! Best regards; Steve Edited March 28, 2017 by fightersweep
Plasticbasher
The Matchbox Siskin is the only biplane I've ever built- I loved it, a simply engineered kit but beautifully turned out. Your result is brilliant!
Graeme H
Wow, what a wonderful trip down memory lane, a top build of some classic plastic
cngaero
That's an outstanding little Siskin Greg. Matchbox certainly had a way with bi-planes. Thanks for sharing it.
Bangor Lad
I think it's already been said that Matchbox had a way with kitting some really nice biplanes and you've certainly done this one credit. What a lovely build. Cheers

stevehnz
That looks seriously nice. I'm beginning to regret letting the one I had go after seeing that. Steve.
Greg in OK
To all, thank you for the kind comments, And to Richard in NZ, I have only rigged a Revell Fokker E-III and the Revell P-26, both monoplanes and the nearly cost me my sanity. I am trying the Heller Gladiator for my first biplane rigging adventure. To Darby, I would imagine you were thinking that that would be fun, and I bet it was. And to Alex, if Revell ended up with these molds they should make so up for all of us. It is a wonderful kit! Thanks again everyone!
