corsaircorp
Look, I've started a P-38 from Monogram at a time, that the Monogram was the only girl to date Then in 2015 or 16, I bought this one As Mrs CC has always told me, that if I die first, she will throw away my whole collection ( almost 500 plus transkits, decals and so on...) I told her that, she will have been wiser to throw the whole pack on E b, she saw prices on some boxes and then ... The guy who buy kits from my collection can have such a surprise... 2 for the price of one plus bonus track And yesterday !! I was looking at Spadgent new built and Tilt !! it sparked this The Monogram was good, must be engraved and wingtip modified but look... Dimensions are right, no brainstorming for guessing what this one will be Will find cool decals for her and some resin parts are gone to the plusplastic park. Cloning,Dodson ! nice hat, you played spy ?? The Academy will be this one As I get the opportunity years ago to buy 5 monogram Lightning (Of course, there is 5 versions available on the same box) It was a toy shop that failed, it was a friend, it was not a gift but not any far from it. I was back home with 5 P-38, 3 P-47, a B-26, an A-26, a F4F and 3 F6F, smuggled at night , since the pill was a little big too hard to swallow for lot of spouses I think. Then, I will make this one I'm a great fan of Robin Olds, so Scat is in my challenges, I have at least 4 differents Scats wich are waiting in my attic. I also have this one available for a swap, don't remember why I've bought these.. Viking 2 may be... but I will make a conversion for one of the first british lightning Ok, it was not a warhorse but the sleekest of the P-38 for sure... Look at the differences Monogram 1966, just a few years younger than I am Eduard 2013, Who will dare to say "It was better in my years ???" Rough and dirty will be fun too, I like the pin up So now Rammstein mode.... Benziiiiine and let's go a L and a M Thanks for watching. It's not my fault Sir, I know I start, no please restart, it's not the same !! Convict Spadgent ! You're free, Corsaircorp's complaint is irrelevant. Have a nice day, I start my evening work week, no many modelling next days. Take care, see you soon. Sincerely. Corsaircorp
corsaircorp
Hello it's me again, About Pacific Prowler, it seem that the color of the Squadron was blue instead of yellow, can anyone help please ? Sincerely. Corsaircorp
corsaircorp
Hello dears, Seemingly, there's blue Sqdn and Yellow sqdn, and Pacific Prowler should be yellow at all. Whatever, advice is welcomed. Thank for watching. Sincerely. Corsaircorp
jean
Hi Corsaircorp, 500-odd in the stash... I am really a babe in the wood! If you do a P-38L, don't forget that they have airbrakes on the underside of the wings, if I am not mistaken. Great color schemes! Have fun JR

Good luck sir. As for the colours, sorry I know not. I'm sure someone on BM will help though. Johnny boy.
corsaircorp
Hello Dears, I'm back on my modelling kitchen table, worked on some kits today, Obviously, the P-38's let's carry on the comparisons The '66 Monogram has a Union Pacific locomotive skin, I mean the 1875 model, Doubtfull that Clarence Jhonson would have admit such a riveting on his thoroughbred Here Clearly Academy's the winner But... A look at the deck ?? Left Acad, center Brassin and right Monogram, well done for a '66 kit Otherwise, it will be Brassin seat for everyone, I say EVERYONE !! Stansfield dixit ! Monog at left, Brassin center and Academy on the right, again the '66 kit was not too bad ... I started the Monogram around 1988, I put randomly the yellow chromate... resin cleaned, I will keep the Monogram deck for this one, just improving it. Some news of another Lockheed that will make it to the RFI this year.. Now, I'm gonna have a look at Spad's Lightning Have a nice day, see you tomorrow. Sincerely. corsaircorp
Hello Dears, Here we go, I cleaned the 2 kits of the not to be used parts. I look at the wheels That will be Brassin wheels for everyone, " Dear Dr Wu take that wheels to plusplastic park" I put some paint on the interior parts and then I'll improve the Monogram one. Then, I consider assembling the booms to improve the Monogram, slow start... but... Have a nice day and take care of yourselves Sincerely Corsaircorp
The Spadgent
Paint before cutting the block off. You're a braver man than I. Looking good. Johnny. BTW. I've ordered some of those wheels for my Birthday this weekend. Let's hope all my dreams come true. Edited April 4, 2017 by The Spadgent

The wheels are just nickel Chrome, great improvement over the vynil ones. Hope that the wheelie gift will come in right time for your birthfay. Mine is still far away, in September. I already booked my gift, that will be my first at SMW. Let's see what this event look like.. Have a nice modelling day. Sincerely. TonyTiger66
Good progress CC I'm in here with popcorn and a can of fizzy orange 🍊. These P 38's are attractive aircraft. I like your 1966 kit. Same age as me. The year England won the World Cup. About time they won it again ! I think the rivets look ok and the cockpit is great! Nice wheels. Great stuff TonyT

Nice wheels. Great stuff TonyT Hello Tony, Welcome aboard, I was 3 when this one has been issued, that's weird a bit, working on such a kit almost as old than I'm. I think that the rivets are too prominent, look, There's no shadow and they are almost invisible, even Under such a light, Pretty shiny, is'nt she ? So, I'll add fine riveting to the acad and erase a bit the 9 inches nails from the monogram. I found these for the interior, Hey look, the oïl cooler seem very thin huh I cannot let it that way, '66 or not I'll make some oïl or water cooler from my own.. The same for these ones. More to come soon, thank for the kind words ! Sincerely. Corsaircorp

corsaircorp
Hello Dears, I take some plasticard and will make "look alike" cooler for my Gabelschwanze Teufel, even if both 2 were used in the PTO Will take a thicker sheet of plasticard and make four or six, since there is some other Monogram P-38 on the attic. Then mosquito screen and there we go, that will look better than Nothing at all. See you soon. Sincerely. Corsaircorp
rob Lyttle
Well that's an impressive collection of P38s right there, CorCor! Bit of a group build going on, and most of it is on your bench! I'm looking forward to seeing how you set about them. If you want any more....(!!)... versions, there's a recce version . You're right about the rivets,, they got to go. I'm looking at pictures of the Confederate AF "Happy Jack"and the airframe is smooth and clean.
corsaircorp
Hello Rob, Let's say 2 differents versions of Recce, then the droop snoot . I must find back my photos of "California Cutie" flown by the late Hugh Proudfoot for The fighter collection. He was a great man and pilot, think about him when I work on my P-38. Will make my best to make the good rendition of this Aircraft. Thank for the support. Sincerely. Corsaircorp
gingerbob
I've got a small stack of Monogram P-38s, too- and I've actually completed two! One was scrapped, and the other isn't in my possession, but they'd both be old enough to have kids in college. And then I've got the Academy and Hasegawa in an open lid at the top of the stairs (turn right to get to the desk, right again to the "warehouse"...) - I catch a glimpse as I'm going by and sometimes think I ought to see what I can do with them. You may have given me another nudge, but I've got enough things going at present! And then, yes, there are more Lightnings lurking in the stash, too.
corsaircorp
Hello Dears, All that think has been sparked by Spadgent, we're now 3 in doing 4 Lightnings, give your Monogram a chance and join us It's just fun and I also have a lot of kit on the bench, all my WIP are just indicative of how much I'm definitely not a reasonable guy Did'nt forget my idea of a british Lightning, I mean the one without the turbocharger. Would be fun. Have a very nice day and take care. Sincerely. Corsaircorp

TonyTiger66
Nice work CC Those reference pictures are great. I do like 'Moonlight Cock-tail', pretty nose art . Yes, I take it back about the rivets, they're smooth birds! If I ever make the Airfix one, it will need wet and dry to get rid of the work of the 'mad riveter' . Some nice cockpits coming along; great stuff! Best regards TonyT
