Mike Esposito Posted March 27, 2017 Share Posted March 27, 2017 (edited) Just received the United boxing. It's the dc-6b Hawaii. I've been trying to figure out if the 6 was radar equipped. There is no primary info on this online. The nose cone of the Academy DC-6 kit definitely looks like a radar nose equipped ship. I know the 7 was equipped with an x-band weather radar. I'm thinking I should have got the Roden DC-6 kit as it has both types of radar noses. Any info would be appreciated. Jessica Posted March 27, 2017 Share Posted March 27, 2017 This one certainly is radar equipped. So is this one. I think that most DC-6s were fitted with radar either at the factory, or retrofitted.
