It's a great kit john. I loved building the one I had a few months back.

Good luck trying to keep all the guns attached as you build her up, it's a nightmare B)

Reminds me I never got the RFI pics up best get them sorted before your masterclass outs me to shame ha ha

Hope you had a great day. Seems like you did.

Cheers mate

Wow this got busy fast! Only started the other week and here we are at page 7 already...

You certainly attract a lot of attention Johnny Magnet, fortunately it seems to be the appropriate kind :)

Oh, nice progress by the way 👍🏿

Hello Spad,

Nice and usefull gift, the turbocharger are a very good add to the Academy kit (any kit at all)

The Wheel too, seem that Mrs Spad knew a lot in modelling huh ?

Whatever, it seem that you've had a great day, I'm pretty glad for you !

Now, you put your Hannibal mask again and have a go on resin again

Have a nice day and take care.

Sincerely.

Oh my word! Thanks guys for about a zillion Birthday messages. I'd reply to each one but it would add a page to the thread. So a BIG thankyou to you all.

A quick update from tonight, it's model night tomorrow so hopefully quite a bit done then.

So in the light of all the new bits and bobs procured over the weekend I have decided to start with the  Turbo chargers.

the kit parts are good but those resin bits are better.:Tasty: I popped the IP together and assembled the rest of the tub so I could get cracking on the new bits.

everything fits!:hobbyhorse:

first up these intakes need to be removed and added.

once again resin wins.

I used a blade to cut the bulk of the old intakes off.

I Used Tamiya tape to mask so I didn't scratch the rest of the smoothness.

A few flashes with a sanding stick (two grades) and a wash off with a warm tap, tooth brush and a little light re scribe and we're here.

I'll be cutting into the resin tomorrow.

glad to actually be starting to put the main bulk of this together.  Thanks for taking time to see some plastic progress.

more tomorrow.

take care and Happy Modelling gents.

It was the suspicious looking bloke wot did it - so that could be any of them!

Great work on the 'pit and resin prep Johnny :)

Did you mean the castle of Aaaaaaargh ???

Glad that you enjoy the turbocharger, it's really a valuable add:clap2:

And the scoop are really more realistic, that's the limits of plastic injection.

Nice job, I keep following with attention.

Sincerely.

:giles:Thanks guys, glad you're enjoying the build, model night has occurred and progress has been made.:hobbyhorse:

I needed to fit the turbo set so out with Dexter and off with their heads.

you have to cut them really thin so if you are going to buy this set I advise cutting half from one side and half from tother.

4E6BEFB7-10F0-4A9E-8840-E1E964A173F7_zpsytr7t6ni

lovely! :christmas:

then the intakes got chopped and sanded. These small ones benefit from being clamped before sanding as otherwise you might loose one to the rug beast. (Oh yes I did)

3E8C9F07-EF02-4D47-80FB-6E00B41610EF_zpsaywqq0t7

but I found it under my spares box.

these were last then I can start putting it all together.

91441302-4637-4D7B-8728-0E5EAB0B32B5_zpsft6le3va

These look so nice in place.

Ill fit the turbo chargers at the end, easier that way.

the light housing got chopped out and sanded.

CAA85218-C6EE-47E5-B215-B911D7693620_zps8rixddrm

and at long last the pit gets glued in place and the two halves fused with TET.

Huzzah!:guitar:

next up the booms need their work before fitting. The PE flaps require you to cut out the kit ones. So I drilled the base shape with the D clone.

D75399B9-9D41-4857-A93F-E6A87DDD422F_zpshfm8ib2d

cut with a blade.

9E26DDB4-89C0-45F3-92EB-E75AEE62024D_zpswwodqfdh

and sanded.

67C4196C-01FF-4AA7-A5C9-801D5CC6C631_zps6nzbjhj0

that looks pretty good, just need to do it three more times now.:viking:

but as it's late and I'm tired I'll leave it there.

hope you are having a lovely evening. Thanks for stopping by and joining in with the fun.

Until next time.

Happy Modelling.

Johnny.

Ps. Just found out what "Brassin" means.:pilot:
