Brilliant Johnny. Lovey work and a fine build. Looking forward to the RFI. You truly are a man of my own heart: what with being a lover of Black Country beer, and I know Wychbury Hill well, lovely spot. As for your next build, I have the kit in my stash too and it was a close run to be my next build, but dad asked me to build the Lanc. Will be following with interest, and some nice schemes you've dug out there.

Absolutely fabulous build Johnny Awesome :D

I've been poking my nose in every so often adding the odd surreptitious like here and there.

It's watching builds like this that's kept the spirits up when the stuffs been hitting the fan :poo:.

Looking forward to the RFI pics

I'm glad I managed to sprint over and catch this just as you finished Johnny :)!

She really is big and beautiful :thumbsup2:

Marvellous metal finish; I'm going to go back to where I was in the thread and work my way forward. Find out how you arrived at this great result.

The HP 0/400 is a great choice. Your display cabinet is going to be really varied; a real 'history of aviation'.

I like the 'Last Days' scheme too; lovely period lettering style, really evocative.

It makes me think of 'War of the Worlds'; the Martians have landed!

Oops, better be careful, don't want to upset BM's very own tentacled one :o!

Have a great concert and a fantastic hollybobs!

See you soon :bye:

Thanks Tomo. You're a gent. Maybe we can do a swap over, I have a Tamiya lanc I need to build. It's ruddy massive though. If I can do it anywhere near the justice you are doing to your wonderful bird I'll be a happy man. Best save up the Tin sheet now eh.

Thanks Mr T. I have really enjoyed this build, I think I tripped myself a little with so many after market purchases requiring extra attention. I should have finished earlier but I'm pretty happy with the end result. The Gig was great and this will be my last post before flying. Yay! An aeroplane, not quite my favored choice but the effect is the same.  I'll be popping my nose in on everyone's builds while relaxing in the sun no doubt.

Take care y'all.

oh by the way I've been reading info on the 0/400 and the rigging thereof. The Airfix method is sturdy but not that accurate, there is also no tail rigging guide.

I have both windsock data files, they are very useful and show in detail how the rigging wires go. I'm thinking of going down the EZ line route. It'll make my life so much easier what with so much webbing. I know we talked about Fishing line but I think the EZ line scale looks right at 1/72 and the less holes I drill the better. (Might drill placement holes?)

What do you lot think?

sound like a plan right. ....right.?

oh well gotta dash, there's a plane to catch.

see you on the other side brothers and sisters.

Johnny.

Hello Spad,

I think, you're already gone for holydays, 15 days in Honolulu ??

Very nice job with the beautifull bitch.

Will put the low gear and restart mine.

And Kiss too, after Maiden, great taste, you're my kind of guy, what about Van Halen, Deep purple and the Zep ??

I use only EZ line since I've tried it, very nice stuff !

Look forward for the RFI but she already can be considered as a beautifull one !

Take care.

Sincerely.

Oh, just came across this. A bit late I guess, but in time to say that it looks great. Call me in for the Handley Page 0/400

By the way, this is my favorite by Kiss anyway:

Ahhhh Unmasked. A lot of fans don't like that album. I think it's pretty good. I love "Torpedo girl"  I'll post a link to the HP when I finish off this thread.

I love all those bands, I only haven't seen Zep live, alas that will never happen.

Looking forward to the RFI myself.

Johnny, just read this from start to finish, and what a stunning build.  I too have had good experiences with Vallejo Metal Color, but I've only done lottle pieces, not a NMF beauty.

Lovely jubbly.  Looking forward to the Bloody Paralyser...
