Japanese Type 89 color question

Hi,

I am building Type 89, and would like to do it in the Navy version (SNLF) sirca early 30s. The instruction sheet suggests grey (XF75 by Tamiya). Possibly makes sense.

But here, it is suggested that it was painted overall khaki http://www3.plala.or.jp/takihome/fqa.htm which also makes perfect sense.

Now, which way should I go?

Also the IJN emblem on the frontal glass is seems to have been painted. Was it white?
