What If 1/144 Anigrand Short SB.5 ETPS

I really didn't know this curious bird.

I find it looks a bit like the English Electric P1B, the ancestor of the EE. Lightning, doesn't it?

The curious design of the wings could be the same?

What do you think?

That would be because it was the engineering test article to see how a Lightning would behave at low airspeeds, so there's no surprise that it looks much like a Lightning.

Not only that, it was used to test the optimum tailplane location for the P.1. English Electric preferred the low-set location, while the RAE was convinced that a T-tail was needed. As we now know, EE was correct.

 

From the modeller's point of view, this means there can be two visually-different configurations to build.
