rockpopandchips
So I orded some of these very small LED didn't quite expect then to be so small, I ordered 20 pre-wired but the first few out the bag dont want to work so I thought I would ask here to check Im not being a complete nummpty. I used a 1.5V AAA to test the first 2 with out a resistor but nothing, then tried another with 1.5V AA nothing so I tried another with a 3V CR2023 but nothing and then tried a new one, added a resistor and tried all three batteries again, but still nothing. Have I got a duff batch or an I doing something wrong? I know nothing of LED as I would normally buy a ready made lighting kit. Info I got with the lights: Brand New: SUNSHINE MODEL. Product: Pre-soldered SMD Led 0603 RED. Size(SMD Led 0603): 1.6*0.8mm. Emitting color: RED. Wire length: the wire(copper) of the Anode is 20cm, the wire(copper) of the Cathode is 18cm. Wire diameter: 0.1mm. Operating Voltage1: 1.8V (without resistor), AC or DC Compatible. Operating Voltage2: 12V~18V(must connect a resistor in series), AC or DC Compatible. Operating Current: 20mA. Thanks for any help.
LightningMk6
The anode (the longer lead) should be positive, the cathode (shorter lead) negative but I'm sure you knew that, but just a possibility you may have them wrongly connected.
