whitestar12chris
Heres my Grundhai in 1/72 by Schatton Modelbau. This was a project that didnt make it off the drawing board for a DSV its planned operating depth was 1000m, It was designed for underwater recovery and other tasks including cutting underwater telephone cables. Its a simple resin/metal kit which needed a little clean up, painted in humbrol enamels and given a satin coat finish. Having looked at the photos, close up the camera picks up every little thing, groan. In person it looks fine, its about the size of my thumb. Drat i seem to have lost a prop blade on the starboard side, scalpel nurse. SUB-SAM
Quirky little model, I love it! It looks like something me and my mate would have built in the garage from a LPG cylinder!

phoscar
Hello, It's absolutely exciting. I did not know this machine. A big thank you for this achievement which is superb and so incredible. (I must admit, that in my great ignorance, I first thought it was a joke so it seemed unlikely). Well now ... I absolutely have to find it. Bandsaw Steve
Nice to see some fighting back against the photo-bucket forces of evil. I take it from the markings that this was a WW1 concept?
whitestar12chris
Hi Steve this was a WW2 idea, due to the crippling losses of u-boats the idea was to retrieve sunken u-boats for refit and putting them back into service.
