Once upon a time, I started it, 1/25 Chevy

Recommended Posts

Hello Dears,

I started this one in the '90 and today, I've been sparked to pick it up and work on this car.

As a mechanic, seeing cars 8hrs a day at work is enough for me, but..

I like US oldies so... Sometimes, I let my aircrafts aside.

I found some pics on the web, as I've worked on these, improving the engine will be easy.

WP_20170312_19_02_19_Pro

I will get rid from the chrome on the suspension, I will not my Chevy to be pimped;)

If someone had an idea to erase the chrome, let me know please.

Have a very nice day.

Sincerely.

Hello Mark,

Thank you for the tip, I'll try it.

I really like these oldies.

I missed a 72's Fury from the Florida Highway patrol years ago.

Still regret it. since it was at 1/1 scale.

Have a nice day.

Sincerely

Great, some bleaching of other companies plastic spruces does not work, so a bit of trial & error is called for!

The bits of chrome left over, give a scrub with washing up scouring pad, & re-bleach should take the last bits off.

Hello Richard,

It's Vallejo surface primer for metal and plastic !

Good stuff, it's a 400ml can, I pay 14,50€ in Belgium

There's white and grey I think.

Hope that help, only inconvenience is the fumes, use it outside !

If not Squabblings with SWMBO are in sight :fuyou_2:

Sincerely.

The Chevy is a looker. I like your choice of paints for the body. I'm using the French Blue on my VW bus, curious to see how it turns out on yours, in combination with the Coral. Speaking of paint fumes, those Tamiya cans are pretty bad too so be careful ;-)

Thanks for the kind words Jeroen !

I saw one on the web and I looked what are the best choice of paint for my kit !

lots of masking ahead ! I use the Tamiya can for clear or matt cote on my kits and I always wait for SWMBO to be abroad ;)

Sincerely.

Thanks for the reply cc, I think the best choice for spraying some paints is always going to be outside, especially when you do not own an extractor/spray booth.

Cheers

Hello Dears,

It's a long time since I worked on my Chevy

But for the lower parts of the car I worked with differents varnishes

WP_20181214_22_07_09_Pro

And now the rear axle, putty and sanding

WP_20181214_22_06_48_Pro

Lot of flashes and sink marks !

But start to look good !

Sincerely !
