sherbir
Revell 1/144 scale MiG-25 Foxbat completed as part of my "Foxbat Fury " project and is my second entry into the "MiG group build" hosted on Facebook by Ian Poulton. All camouflage has been painted free hand without any masking. The aircraft has been painted in the tactical camouflage scheme of the Soviet Air Force MiG-25 RBF from 931.OGRAP (Guards Reconnaissance Aviation Regiment), based at Werneuchen, East Germany, during the cold war years in 1971-72.The MiG-25 is the fastest fighter in the world capable of achieving clean speeds of upto Mach 3.2 (3920 km/h) and was designed to intercept and shoot down the US SR-71 Blackbird and U-2 reconnaissance spy-planes using its 4 long-range AA-6 Acrid (Vympel R-40) missilesIt is powered by 2 × Tumansky R-15B-300 afterburning turbojets delivering a thrust of 16,524 lbs each. Here are some pics for you to enjoy. Thanks !
exdraken
Nice model! Good work onthis camo! It is 144th after all I would take the missiles and pylons off though as your rightly thate that yours is a RBF version. THIS IS A reconaissance veraion of the Foxbat without any missile capability, and no pylons therefor. Only the ones in your reals plane picture could be carried for dropping bombs as a secondary mission! Would be an easy correction!
celt
Well tidy Foxbat.
modelglue
Very nice Foxbat, I would love to do one in this scheme with the antiradar missiles. For now I have ICM's "PD" and will complete that oob. If another manufacturer comes out with a few different versions in 1/72 then I will have to add this camo to my collection.

So I wanted it to give it a more deadly look and so I attached the missiles too.

Steve. Yes Steve. This camo existed on the MiG-25s of the 931st OGRAP based at Werneuchen, Germany in 1971. The squadron ceased operations in 1989 and was redeployed back to the Soviet Union, which is when all the Foxbats were given a paint overhall and repainted in the all-grey/silver paint schemes.

Of course that's coz the MiG-25 is a huge aircraft as is.
