BlackMax12
Here is a rusty, dirty old WW I MK IV tank from Takom built as a Male on the right and Female on the left. Edited March 7, 2017 by BlackMax12

robgizlu
I really like the washed out tones and overall weathering. I think you've nailed the finish. Lovely work Rob
BlackMax12
Thanks Rob That's WWI tank #4 and probably the last, got stuck in a rut there. They are so ugly I've kind of gotten quite fond of them. Take care, Lloyd
BlackMax12
Here is a formidable line up from back in the day. Meng Female MK V, Male MK V, Whippet A and now a Takom MK IV Male/Female. The Brits stole the Whippet back but it needs a paint job right smartly, or at least the German crosses blanked out. BlackMax12
The lighting makes the MK IV look greenish, it's not green, sort of a dirty washed out brown. Started out as Tamiya Khaki with Dark Earth and a little Buff so no green. Dumb camera and fluorescent lighting. Lloyd

BlackMax12
Thanks Buzby and Carius I think that's enough WWI armor for now. Take care, Lloyd *******It was pointed out to me that "FLIRT II" was actually a Female MK IV not a hermaphrodite so I have removed the Male sponson and replaced it with another female. Still some work to do but it's coming. Gender change operations are tedious. Edited March 8, 2017 by BlackMax12 Gender change operation.
BlackMax12
I couldn't figure out how to change the title of this topic so I'll just add to it. I had originally built this model as a hermaphrodite for something different but then it was pointed out that "Flirt II" was actually a MK IV Female. Oh, oh, too late to try removing the decals so since I still had the female sponson from the kit I pried off the male sponson and swapped it for the female. It's now a more accurate representation of Flirt II but without the added track extension plates and the un-ditching beam on the rails. It's done as far as I'm going. Sgt.Squarehead
Glad you already decided make the change, (that sounds so wrong) I was going to point the issue out but fortunately someone beat me to it!
BlackMax12
Thanks Sarge Yes, it kind of ticked me off but once again I look at the instructions and only see what I want to see. In this case the painting guide clearly said female but I ignored it. Dumb and dumber.... Take care, Lloyd
TonyTiger66
These look really very good . Inspiring stuff! I recently was given an MB 'Male' Somme tank as a gift (1/72). A long way out of my comfort zone, but these give me an idea what to try to aim for. There's certainly no chance of me getting to this standard, your weathering is fantastic. They look so solid, metal, heavy. Just brilliant. TonyT
BlackMax12
Thanks Tony Speaking of paths and snow, it's been snowing up here since Saturday and they are calling for at least 3 more days. I thought March 21 was the 1st day of Spring but I guess I'm wrong. Sure getting fed up with that snow shovel though. Take care, Lloyd Edited March 9, 2017 by BlackMax12
BlackMax12
Started a new thread as this is a female now, not a hermaphrodite. Quit snowing for today but supposedly more tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday. Some place like Tahiti is looking better and better.
