PlaStix
This is my build for the 70s NATO vs Warsaw Pact GB. It was a lovely kit to make apart from the instructions being a bit wrong in a couple of places. I hadn't heard of Modelcollect before but would certainly buy one of their kits again. The detail is excellent for such a small kit. A bonus is that the kit comes with a metal barrel and Link & Length tacks. The kit originally came with band tracks but these, I found, have been replaced - however, there are no instructions for putting the L&L tracks together - it would help if you have made some L&L tracks before - which I have done. The model is OOB apart from where I had to replace a handrail with wire as the kit part was very fragile and snapped early on. The model depicts a T-64 somewhere in Eastern Europe during the 1970s. I used Humbrol, Revell, Citadel and Railmatch Acrylic paints and all were applied with brushes. All the paints were thinned with water. The WIP can be found here. Lots of photos: I have finished building a small scenic base for this kit and have taken some photos with the tank in place. The full set can be found here. A few here - these are new photos which were taken in daylight - posted on 15/03/17: Comments and suggestions welcome. stevej60
Another fine armour build Stix, weathered beautifully,is it me? for for an MBT the running gear/lower hull looks a little open and flimsy, I would think the perfect area to put a shell, that said the low profile as a whole would make a difficult target at distance.

Hi Steve. Sorry I didn't reply before - I was waiting to catch a train when I was writing the other two replies above and then it arrived so I posted those and then didn't get back to yours. Thank you for your comments and you are quite correct - it does look a little weak in that area. It looks almost spider-like with thinnish legs! PlaStix
I have now taken some photos of this T-64 on a small scenic base - which I managed to complete yesterday evening. The photos can be seen here. A few examples here: ...and one in black and white: Comments and suggestions welcome. Kind regards, Stix

PlaStix
Thank you Francis - that is very kind of you to say. Funny you should mention the 1/35th version - I enjoyed building this 1/72nd kit so much and I grew to actually really like the T-64 mod 1972 version - so I have just purchased Trumpeter's 1/35th version of it. It looks like a really great kit in the box and comes with a metal barrel, a lot of PE and nicely detailed link & length tracks. Now just got to find the time to build it! BlackMax12
Pretty impressive and 1/72 scale brush painted no less. My brushes are way too big to work on something this small, not to mention my eyes and shaky hands would get in the way. Keep it up and keep encouraging Mrs P. Take care, Lloyd
John_W
Lovely build and a beautiful Dio. That is why the Soviets would have won WW3, all their tanks had logs on the back.
Bullbasket
Lovely little model Stix, but what really impresses me are the figures. Very well painted. Regards, John.
BerndM
Great little build and very well presented. Stunning Modellcollect has a wide range of 1:72 scale AFV kits and i am really tempted to try them out.

Take care, Lloyd Thank you very much Lloyd for your kind comments. I certainly will keep on encouraging Mrs P - she seems to be really enjoying the whole hobby - even down to the expanding the stash stages! When she first started she used to only make her kits when I was making mine whereas now I can find her somewhere working on something on her builds. She started a new AFV build at the weekend. Hope you are keeping well. Thank you very much for your kind comments. I have noticed they do quite a lot. I may well try some more of their range at some point. No static applicator was involved. The base turf is just the scatter type - held on with watered down PVA glue and all the rest is grass tufts - mostly from the Army Painter range. PlaStix
Hi Julian and thank you very much for your kind comments. Some of the parts are quite small but then again an individual handle in 1/35 is often even smaller. The many tiny handles on the rear deck of AFV Club's 1/35 Centurion nearly drove me to the edge!
