Mike Esposito
Any thoughts on the 1/72 Soviet version of the DC-3? Kit looks good on the sprues, but it does look intriguing. Kinda similar the the MPM DC-2. Thanks Edited March 5, 2017 by Mike Esposito

CarLos
I have the Japanese version (Tabby) and I think it's the same plastic. It's a good kit, that compares well with plans, but (from memory) has no locating pins and is less easy to assemple than, for example, the Airfix DC-3. Nothing wrong about it. I can't comment on the Li-2 but I'm building the Amodel Tu-134 at the moment, and your description sounds about the same. If the Tu-134 is anything to go by, you'll need to do some fettling, it's not "shake and bake" but it won't be unbuildable. The smaller and more detailed parts are ok, not up to the standard of the best modern mainstream manufacturers (I think perhaps 70s or 80s Airfix standard) and will require a bit of fettling but again, not likely to be unbuildable. One thing that the Li-2 does have going for it is the fuselage halves are one piece - the larger Amodel kits (not counting the really big ones with the one-piece fuselages) have them in two or more, which requires some careful alignment. I like these kits - a bit more of a challenge than your typical mainstream kit, but you end up with a good looking model of an interesting subject.
