james 777 fan
Waiting for the KLM old colours to come out then get it from 26 Hannants seem to be overpriced on a few things
Alex1978
Very true. Got mine also from 26. Even cheaper including shipping to Switzerland compared to the Hannants price tag for the kit. I hope they will lower the price, wanted more than only one of those...
buzz
The KLM MD-11 is now available from Ray. And (off-topic) some nice Roden Britannia kit/decal combos. A nice surprise! Roy
Mike Esposito
This kit looks great. Is it possible to convert to a dc-10/30?
Jessica
Anything's possible with enough work, scrap plastic and putty. I could convert a Sopwith Camel into a DC-10-30 eventually You'd need to shorten the fuselage, remove the winglets, round off the tailcone and replace the horizontal stabilisers at the very minimum. There was an article in FSM years ago on doing the opposite conversion to a DC-10, and those were the major points. Airliner Cafe's Ultimate DC-10 guide will help you.
Alex1978
The first MD-11 kit is currently under construction. Fit is decent but the parts need a fair share of cleaning before they can be assambled and filler is needed in almost every part to get a seamless look. The parts are actually nicely molded and the kit is well detailed, the overdid it on the landing gear though. Anyway I am enjoying this build and it wont be the last. 3 of the GE engined kits already in my stash, now awaiting the same number for the P&W version.
