No, you are mistaken! It is conversion of NOVO/FROG! First.

Apologies Serge.........that P-61 looks like another talented conversion.

The nosewheel leg definately looks like the FROG one.

cheers, Adrian

The B-47 is, of course, the Hasegawa kit, still reappears periodically with new decal options. It's still the only injection molded B-47 in 1/72 scale; some enterprising company should correct that.

Another in my series from the back of the display case. This time a real oldie, built over 40 years ago. Inspired by reading 'Night Fighter' by C.F. Rawnsley, my intent was to build a display of 1/72 scale WW II night fighters centered around the Beautifighter used by the team of John Cunningham and Rawnsley. I managed to complete the He- 219 seen here, an Airfix P-61B, a Monogram F-82G and F7F-3N never getting to the Beautifighter!

This He219 is a bit of a mutt, combining the airframe of the Frog kit and the landing gear, radiators, exhaust and propellers of the Revell, a stretch-formed canopy was used over a basic cockpit. About the only thing of note is my first attempt at what I would consider a complex paint scheme, and the markings (except for the "G9) are painted with home-made stencils. Paints used were enamels from the Pactra and Testors line, mixed via the TLAR method and shot through my dad's Paasche H airbrush. A custom display base and a snazzy Dymo label completed the project!

1/72 P-40.

That's a P40 ? Looks like a cross between several aeroplanes including a Piper Pawnee crop sprayer.

A fine model, yet again a silk purse from a soars ear, there is much satisfaction to beat into submission a pig of a kit.

You nothing understand in Soviet art-house! :)
It is P-40 in the abstractionism style!

;):)
But now you know the true reason why Khrushchev has ordered to destroy

abstractionist art show by bulldozers?
At that abstractionist

art show,

everything went normally until Khrushchev hasn't seen this box art  P-40!!!

:):):)

These were built over 15 years ago and unfortunately I no longer have them, but I had great fun with them. In my youff I remember building the FROG Canberra, Jaguar, Ms 406 and Blackburn Shark, which were stocked by my local newsagent in New Longton.

FROG MEN

resized_7c40e173-985b-4011-99ef-71d9a845

Three examples of the splendid 1/72 scale standing pilot figures that came with some of the classic FROG models.

From left to right we have a pilot from the Gloster Whittle, then two from the DH Gypsy Moth and then the Fokker Trimotor.

A couple of the standing pilots look like they have a bad back.................no wonder when you saw the generic FROG seat that they had to sit on....................

EXAMPLES OF FROG PILOTS

resized_7cf32cd6-69c7-4bcd-9a36-5f1e03fd

EXAMPLES OF FROG PILOTS left to right : two crew from the Fokker Trimotor, Mr Bleriot, two World War 2 pilots, two pilots from the 1970s issue Westland Wessex with bone dome helmet ( also found in the Avro Shackleton) and another post war pilot wearing a bone dome helmet but moulded in the dark shiny NOVO plastic.

Three of the early ' will suit any model '  seats and then a nicely convincing one from their Dornier 17Z. The third seat from the left is a NOVO issue moulded in their distinctive darker and shiny plastic.

Two of the later type of FROG pilots from the jet aircraft subjects such as the Canberra B(I)8, Jaguar and Vampire FB5.

They are moulded in the dark blue plastic that all of the last FROG production appeared in the mid to late 1970s before the demise.

Ahh, now then, as you mention the FROG/Hasegawa B-47 I have something to share with you.............

My more recent HASEGAWA issue of the 1/72 B-47 Stratojet moulded in the softer grey plastic then the dark silver hard plastic of the earlier HASEGAWA/FROG issues.

My completed HASEGAWA B-47. It would have looked like this if it had been the FROG one.......but they are hard to find and expensive.

I have my Frog's too ^_^. Uhu (original decals of the kit were unusable, so I put totally fictitious fuselage markings), Beaufighter NF-1 (OOB, original decals), and Havoc (I replaced the propellers and wheels with better ones from the spares box, and decals are from ESCI).
