HP Hermes vx234

I got a left over Hermes airframe, the F rsn one in 144. The small parts (props, u/c) are pretty much useless so its going to have to be in flight.

Looking for a subject for it, I already did the Welsh one in BOAC decals and I am trying to find a non airline scheme for it

I found mention of the Hermes II prototype being assigned an RAF serial VX234 and used for airborne radar trials.

Cant find any images of it though. Anybody help?

Thanks

Bill

G-AGUB was a tail wheel Hermes, and looked quite similar to the Hastings, believe it was the same length as IV though.

It became VX234 with the Air Ministry serving with the RRE at Defford on early Sideways Looking Radar work.

There are some nice images of it in two different schemes on this thread, http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?53524-HP-Hermes-II

Hi, I think it may be a bit of a task to produce the

Hermes II from the IV. As 71Chally states the II had

a tail wheel so there may well be differences in the inboard

engine nacelles to accommodate the single main wheels. From

my info length of the II was 95' 2" and 96' 10" for the IV so

not much in 144 scale.  Also different windows. The II was

used on trials until well into the 60's and I have a photo of

it (which I can't locate!) showing it with a very large ventral

pannier for radar trials. Cheers, Paul

I got a request in on Densil at WM for the Hastings bits. Really only need the props there is not a lot visible of the u/c and I can fake that two legs and a wheel each side don't care about whats inside the bay

Going to push through with the Hermes II I got a policy of not building the same type twice...
