D1fuN0
Afternoon Chaps Our monthly model club meeting is held at the SA War Museum. Thought you chaps would like to see some of the 1:1's they have lying around outside. First up we have , erm, is it a Valentine?, an Olifant and a T34/85 (and a big bottom cannon) PT76, beeeeeg russian truck and T55 Most of the russian stuff on display is captured vehicles from the bush war in the 80's. Sherman, Crusader and another Valentine? Hanomag & M3 Halftracks G6 & G5 The G5 has its own APU and steering system and can wander about buy itself, dig itself in etc... If you are building a G6 at the moment, the colours would equate to roughly Sand, Dark Earth (or buff) and Dark Green. Churchill with Petard One you may not have seen before, an Olifant 1 ARV Ratel 20 Eland 90 & 60 PAK 75, 50 & 37 aaaand finally an 88... There's quite a bit more, but at this point my phone decided to expire. I shall try and get some further pics. If you ever get bored on the weekend, and dont mind the 8000km drive, its a nice little museum to visit Thanks for looking Mad Steve

Beefy
I visited this museum a few years ago when I visited South Africa, it's a great museum and I would highly recommend people to go and look round it if your in the area. They also have a few aircraft on display for the non amour brethren. It has Red 8 Me 262 Night fighter which is the world's only existing Me 262 night fighter. I really had a great time there and was one of the highlights of my South African holiday. You are so lucky to be able to have your modelling meets there.
D1fuN0
Yeah it is quite a nice atmosphere, especially when you are building one of the subjects and you can just nip out and have a look I snaffed these from my mate Beefy...(he went to look at hairyplanes) Mad Steve
