One shot I squeezed at the end of the roll...

What I used to love about going tio the September shows was the walk from the civvy side to the military past the runway end by the Bromley road. Also it was before I learnt to rive and I used to get a bus (London Country service 410 from Redhill) with a bunch of pals. It used to struggle going up the hill fro Westerham.    Oh and the weather... we went whatever happened with nature....

Hi Paul,

you were clearly standing beside me when the Etendard was towed out as I have an almost identical shot (I'll post it tomorrow). This is a great set of shots and takes me back. Nice Canberras and, of course, the '104s ;)

Do you remember the Air Fair in 1973 and the rain! :(. It was the year of the mass Wessex display.

From the angle and the position of the Seaking you must have been shoulder to shoulder with me!

Well I'll be...!!    Seeing as you are fairly local as well in where we live its quite likely , somehow, we must have chatted...

That is quite possible, Paul. I lived in East Grinstead and was a regular at Gatwick 1970 onwards (working there from 1977). I went to every BoB at Biggin from the early 1960s, as my profile picture shows. As you can see, I am still close by. You certainly couldn't miss me at 6'3", even at the age of 12!

Very nice shots. My flying pics haven't surfaced yet but I think I used a print film aswell that day. I recall the Shack and Victor with the Lightnings. I remember a similar formation at previous shows and one at Farnborough in '68.

WH964 was indeed wearing 98 Squadron markings and XE582 definitely appears to be an FGA. 9 (you can just make out the brake parachute fairing and the port outer pylon's ejector gun fairing).  I was lucky enough to be allowed to play with WE113 at Marham a year or two later when on annual camp with the CCF at West Raynham IIRC.

Funnily enough the weather was pretty awful the last time I went to Biggin Hill some time in the late eighties.
