corsaircorp
Hello Dears, I told about 2 Sailor's Aircraft, here's the first one. First finished lit for 2017, but started years ago, the building has not been uneven, far from it Sometimes you will scratch your head .... This book has been helpfull and still is My project is to represent these planes, that very same day but on the ground. The TBD-1 has been the first combat monoplane to enter the fleet, and there was a ceremony and press conference. Here's the beast... She has been painted with Life colors and Alclad, I really like this Aircraft. The wearthering has been kept a minima, Since it was peacetime, Navy birds are well maintained It's the Squadron leader Aircraft and... We are in a press conference The Yellow wings decals are pristine, really enjoyed it The more I look at her, the more I like her What a pleasure... Different from the grey'ish grey Aircraft carrier deck of today Once again, I used EZ lines, I only kept the caban rigging, The photo etched wings main rigging is .... well ( this may contain some explicit contents) Moreover EZ line is flat, so, what else ?? Antenna aerial is also made from EZ line, but different kind of. Hope that you enjoy it, thanks for watching. Sincerely. Corsaircorp
malpaso
As an Englishman I should love Spitfires first, last and always. But I was given a copy of Martin Cardin's "Golden Wings" when I was seven or eight - so I was smitten by pre-war USN types. Your F3F is a marvellous example of the breed.
polo1112
Yes I particularly LOVE the Golden Wings. For me they are the most beautiful colour schemes. Your F3F is no exception, it a really GREAT model to be proud of!!! Congratulations. Polo.
jean
Hi, now this is truly well done and great looking. And what's not to like with an F3F? I like your take of the orange-yellow on the top wings, which in my eyes is often painted too yellow and not orange enough. On the other end, I think the "true blue" on the tail surfaces is far too dark and looks more like insignia blue, which is correct for the warning blue band on the propeller. A color like Humbrol 14 would be far better to represent True Blue. But that is just me being painful. As I said, this is a beautifully built model! Congrats. Meatbox8
Oh wow. That looks great. Terrific finish and a great scheme. Some may say the F3F looks like it has eaten too many pies but I say it looks Rubenesque!!

I wonder how the belly is not flatter, since arrested landing can compress the oleos. and there is no margin, or just a little bit. Many thank, I really appreciated Sincerely. Here we go, you're right JR following the FDS is not always the best way. I will make it better next time, But sorry about it but I must use the same color for my BF2C and my TBD as they will be side by side. Thank you all. Sincerely. I like your take of the orange-yellow on the top wings, which in my eyes is often painted too yellow and not orange enough. Not so; the Navy 'Orange-Yellow', despite the name has virtually NO orange in it. See the paint chip in the Monogram book above, which is quite correct..... It was the Army Yellow #4 which has some orange in it. The Army and Navy yellow colours were quite different until around 1939, when the Army and Navy colour standards were merged to create the ANA (Army-Navy Aircraft) colour standard. The Navy yellow was the one then adopted by both services; thus the WW2-era Army Stearmans use the Navy colour not the previous, more orange Army shade. Very few modellers correctly appreciate the difference between the Army and Navy colours and their change over the years. What you said about the blue is quite correct, however.
Duncan B
Coincidentally i received these colours on Saturday for my next US Navy builds coming up. On the left is the pre war USN Chrome Yellow, in the middle is True Blue and on the right is Lemon Yellow (used for the Flight identification). Toryu
Thanks for hinting at this model CC. It's a great-looking Grumman. I built an F3F-2 in 1998 from the Aeroclub vacu kit. It turned out quite good, but requires some restauration before I feel like posting it. With your fantastic model we could open a Golden-Era-Club. How far are you with the other builds?
