Stephen
Can anyone tell me which carburettor intakes were used on this aircraft? According to artist profiles in the Airfile "Operation Overlord pt 1" ,it would be the long intakes but it would be nice to be sure. rossm
I'm sure I've seen a photo somewhere, just can't find it. Best i can do is an unidentified Beaufighter VI of 406 in D-Day plumage with short intakes so I'd suggest caution.
TBC
I dug out my ADS 008-48 Beaufighter Part 1 decal sheet. It has markings for 406 Mk.VIf HU-P ND221 based out of Winkleigh, Devon, June 6th, 1944 and HU-Y ND222, late 1943. The reference is given as Airfix Magazine Volume 9, page 358. I believe this issue is Vol.9 No.9, May 1968. For what it's worth, I have pics of VIF HU-T KW103 and HU-Z (serial unknown) and they both have short carb intakes. If you do locate the images, would you mind sharing? Edited February 17, 2017 by TBC
