Searching with the search option

Recommended Posts

Perhaps someone can help me. I have really no luck using the search option on the site. E. g. if I want to search the forums for certain topics as "Fw 200" to show me all the topics that have been made on the type. The search option  never seems to be producing any results, no matter how I type the stuff in?

How do search properly for things on this site?

My workaround is to google it by adding Britmodeller to my query, but that is a bit sad, isn't it?

Cheers

First off let me say that I am not an expert or the guy responsible any of the functions on the site. With that cleared...

I believe that the search function needs several characters in order to run.  If the search string is too short it would produce millions of hits so 2 letters such as Fw are not unique enough to produce reasonably good results.

The problem with your search request is the space between Fw and 200.  The search program sees the space as a seperator and only looks for Fw or 200 and they're not specific enough.

I tried Fw200 and got 5 pages of results also try searching Condor.

Good luck.
