Arniec
Here are some pictures of what is in the box. I will use some different decals from Carpena and some resin seats from Ultracast?! The seats are a left over from a earlier build that I did about 10 years ago. The front cover of the box. The content. And the Carpena decals. I forgot to take a picture of the seats. You will see them in the build. Cheers,
TEMPESTMK5
Good afternoon Arniec Be extra careful with Carpena Decals they are often difficult to use .. Patrice
Arniec
Thanxs for the warning Patrice. As you can see with the decal sheet there are already some done and I know they aren't the easiest ones to use. Cheers,
DAG058
The kits looks great Arniec, there looks to be a lot of plastic in that box. Which of the decals will you be using?
Arniec
Hi Guys, I have made a start yesterday with the kit and this is the progress sofar. Here are the pictures. With some lead wire I made some cables from the radio and receiver. It's not perfect, but looks more busy now. I also used some wire for the cable booms inside the fuselage half's. And this are the resin seats from another build. As you can see they are already painted, but not to good, so they will be painted again and I hope to do a better job this time. I also glued the wings together. That is it for now. I hope to do a new update later this week. Cheers,
Arniec
I just noticed that it has been 2 months after my last update. That is to long ago, but I have finally done some more things today. So here are some pictures of what has been done today. Here are some pictures of the cockpit after painting, but before it is placed in the fuselage. And after the fuselage is closed. There isn't to much to see after the fuselage is closed. And I also did the wings. The wings are already cleaned up. I hope to do the fuselage tomorrow, so they can be put together. Then it will fast towards painting. Arniec
Thanxs guys, here is a small update, I have put the model together and I have put all sorts of small bits and bobs on it before painting. The main part to go on now is the canopy. I still need to mask it as well, but after that it is a walk in the park. I hope to start painting this Thursday. Then I will also put some pictures up. Arniec
Here is the update with some pictures. These are the wing tip lights. They were glued in with super glue and when thorough dry I have sanded them flat to the wing tips and polished them in the end. Here is a picture of the model just before painting. All the glaswork is covered with tape. I first painted the propellor tips yellow and after that the cockpit framing green. Now there are some decals for the inside of the glass to replicate the inside framing. I don't know where I left them, but they were gone from the decalsheet. So I had to paint them myself. After painting the interior green I masked of the framing that needed to be. After this I pre-shaded the airframe with black (Tamiya XF1) anjd then I painted the insides of the panellines with NATO Black (XF67?!) also from Tamiya. This was all done the last few days. Today I have given the model a coat of Klear for the decals. By doing this I again removed the tape from the green interior cockpit tubing so this will become gloss. When I will paint the model in dull clear I will need to put some new tape on them. That is it for now. Cheers,

Arniec
I have made some progress this week. I have put the decals on and a panel wash. although the panel wash is almost invisible, specialy on the pictures. I should have used a lighter colour for more contrast. Here are two pictures. I hope to put the dull coat on this week and finish the model. Cheers,
Arniec
And the model is finished. Here are some pictures. the rest will go in the Mosquito gallery. I have replaced the wing antennas with some metal wire. I also made two extra on the starboard wing. Tamiya missed these in their kit. I enjoyed this kit. It is always a ease to build these Tamiya kits. Cheers, Edited May 28, 2017 by Arniec
