Nigel Heath
Nice work on the fan blades. What did you use to cut them out?
Sasha_Be
Thanks mates! 3 hours ago, Nigel Heath said: What did you use to cut them out? Please see the photo below: So: 1. For sanding - sanding sticks 2. For initial cut - Tamiya 0.1 mm etched saw 2. For second cut - RB Production etched saw 3. For finishing - Olfa AK1 knife with new blade (it's hell sharp so very usefull)

Gorby
Fascinating to watch a master-modeller at work. Very interested to see the final result.
Sasha_Be
David, thank you a lot! Gorby, thank you too. But I'm not a master, only learning. Made a test painting: The instruction advises to paint the aircraft in GS C71 "midnight blue". But it's too dark from my point of view. Probably will use C14 "navy blue" instead.
Sasha_Be
Intake ventilator masked and painted (separate masking of each blade is so boring thing): And glued on place: As you can see, fitting is not good. So it'll be lots of puttying and sanding. So I masked canopy and also glued it to preserve cockpit from the mess:

Martian
Glad to see the engine fronts getting the attention they deserve, they are so prominent on the real thing that it is really important to get them right and you seem to have got them spot on. Sasha_Be
Nigel, Mike, Martin - thanks mates! Sanding, surfacing, puttying - it'll be long road:
Martian
This is progressing very nicely. You may want to check the fit of the spinners to the drive shafts as this is where things turned difficult on my build. Martian
