bertrande2c
The model I build is Ltn Alfred Greven’s from Jasta 12: it is blue and white with three a white arrows on the fuselage sides and top Here's the only good picture I could find:
bertrande2c
I first painted the overall kit in white, then reproduced the arrows on tape to use them as a mask.
pheonix
That is a very finely detailed model. The arrows look very good - just hope the masking works out well when you paint the rest of the fuselage. P
bertrande2c
Here it is with blue coat applied and arrow masks removed
bertrande2c
I chose HGW 5 color lozenge to replace those of the kit
bertrande2c
I then added some stripes cut in the same sheets
Beardie
What a splendid build, I will be keeping an eye on this one as I too have a copy of the kit and doubt that Wingnuts will produce it as one of their wonders any time soon.
bertrande2c
Thank you ! I know that Wingnut will not produce this one so Roden is a good backup, with a bit of work however. I'm stuck for now, these were the last pictures I could put here (from Photobucket): it seems it doesn't work anymore so I have to figure out how I have to proceed to show the end of my work...
bertrande2c
The upper Wing
bertrande2c
I found a way for my pictures ! And just a bit of dirt to make it more realistic before starting with rigging
bertrande2c
Rigging this plane is quite easy, I made my own buckles and used elastic wire It’s easier to complete the rigging job before gluing the top wing
bertrande2c
And finally the nose section

Mattlow
She's a beauty... Any chance of an exposition of your rigging materials..? Cheers Matt
Tomoshenko
Well I must admit it's not my scale and not a particularly attractive aircraft. However, a stunning build, lovely additions and attention to detail. I do like your micro metal work scoop and duct replacements. Ditto the texturing on the belts. Also I like the way you have laid them out, hanging outside the cockpit - original and natural. Don't mind but I may copy that pose myself one day. HOUSTON
EXCEPTIONAL & STUNNING build.
bertrande2c
Thanks Tomoshenko, I don't mind at all, modelling is sharing ! I'll take more pictures of the rigging method I use and will show it here...
bertrande2c
Last detail: the propeller. I did first a tan base, and then a darker brown with a thin brush. Some grey marks added with a pencil and a coat of future to finish it. Nothing was done on the spinner, except for some weathering on the white base.
bertrande2c
I have now to paint the rudder, but when I carefully look at the picture below, it seems that the horizontal bar of the cross is somewhat thicker... Does anyone have an idea about it ? Note the lack of spinner at the moment this picture was taken, and the flares under the cockpit.
Viking
This is beautiful work, I don't know how I have missed it up to now! The metal foil parts are excellent, I have noted your technique and may well try them myself. Cheers John
