Homebee
New B-45 dedicated Caracal decals - ref. CD72068 RB-45 sheet shortly. Source: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?/topic/297341-cd72068-172-b-45-tornado/&do=findComment&comment=2864607 Quote The B-45 sheet will have three options from the 47th BW : all three squadrons (84th, 85th and 86th) flying from Wethersfield, Sculthorpe and Alconbury are represented. In the end, the choice of operational B-45A/C units were limited and I chose to go with the most important operating unit. I believe this sheet corrects several glaring errors in the kit sheet (insignia incorrect both in shape and dimension, oversized tail numbers, incorrect "USAF" marking, no stencils etc.); and would improve your B-45 build drastically. The Valom offering is a very nice kit in all other respects. I will announce a RB-45 sheet shortly - that one will allow more color and variation. V.P. Britman
The RAF marked aircraft are so basic as to require nothing more than a decent set of roundels and fin flashes. If memory serves me correctly some had over sized fin flashes and possibly no serial numbers.

Mike Esposito
We're these aircraft actually operated by the RAF, or by the USAF with British markings?
mhaselden
2 hours ago, Mike Esposito said: We're these aircraft actually operated by the RAF, or by the USAF with British markings? IIRC they were flown by RAF crews for fear that the capturing of US personnel on "spying" missions would result in a major crisis during the Cold War. The aircraft themselves were never officially taken onto the RAF inventory (ie they never wore RAF serials).
