G'day all,

I have finally got up the gumption to have a crack at my WNW SE5a,( its only been in the stash for 7 years along with an F2B and an Albatross DV!!!)

Here is what I've managed to cobble together thus far.

Cheers,

Well this is as far as this build goes. I have managed to lose part B10, which is the horizontal tailplane.

I have ripped apart my modeling area 3 times in my search for the missing part.......but no joy.

I sent an e-mail to the WNW help desk but I'm not going to hold my breath over getting a replacement part.

I should bin the whole the damn thing.........

Don't bin it Devo, you haven't lost it, you've just misplaced it.

It will turn up

I can only live in hope that it will reappear Colin. I can't even blame the carpet monster because their is no carpet on the deck!!!

Well it lived in the stash for 7 years.......see what happens over the next seven.

Well good news indeed.

WNW replied to my request for getting a replacement part and it has all turned out great. I have a complete new B sprue that will be crossing the ditch very shortly, you beauty!!

Thanks WNW / Weta workshop.

Only trouble......... I  have to now finish the half started WNW Albatros DV pulled from the shelf of doom where it has languished for a few years, before continuing the SE5a. All good though!

G'day All,

Well I have been slowly Pffaffing around with the Scout Experimental and have put the donk and radiator on, gun, sight and inner wing strutty bits. Slapped a bit of paint on with the hairy stick as well. The landing gear is just dry fit at the moment.

It will be finished as this aircraft.......hopefully:unsure:

G'day All,

Well SE.5a is on its way to being finished. Got all the rigging done :swear:  (my hat is truly doffed to those who use turnbuckles and eyelets!!!)

Started a bit of weathering to the paint work.
Did the prop (I think I buggered it), I was going for the darker mahogany type look found on RFC/AFC aircraft.

Some pics.

Nice work. What did you use for the rigging?

Thanks Calum. I use EZ Line for the rigging.

I bought mine from WNW when I got my first 3 kits from them originally in 2012.. It comes 100ft to a spool!!

For me, its like trying to glue spider web!!!

Definitely a skill all unto its own, of which I'm at numpty level!! (Three hands and 500 zoom optics would help I'm sure.):D

The guys who use EZ Line and turnbuckles and eyelets etc to rig their models have my respect.

Cheers,

Devo
