IanHx
Several hours later.... It's been a titanic battle getting the intakes on and the front sort-of attached to the back, but it's now done in a that's-as-good-as-I-can-do sort of fashion. Sitting back to relax and looking at the stash and OMG THERE'S ANOTHER 5 AMODEL KITS AAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGHH !!!
IanHx
Starting to look a bit more like a Fiddler. Nose not glued yet - leaving that until last so that ballast can easily be added if there are tail-sitting issues. IanHx
Work continues... mainly adding filler to all the holes and dents that shouldn't be there. Main undercarriage bogies next.. as per the rest of the kit, why have 1 bit when they can make you glue 10 (excluding wheels) ?!
Col.
Sure it'll all be worth it in the end for a smooth base to the silver paint
IanHx
Recent intelligence reports suggest that the Nato reporting name for the Tu-128 has been changed from "Fiddler" to "Filler".... Taking a break from The Undercarriage From Hell, and painting the wheels. Anybody want to take a guess what colour ? Hint : its the same as on every other Soviet aircraft I've seen

IanHx
Work continues.... model now standing on its own undercarriage. I believe the correct technical description for the missiles it carries is 'gi-normous' Edited July 3, 2017 by IanHx
Col.
Normal size missiles would look silly on such a gi-normous aeroplane

IanHx
Despite all the care taken with nose weights, it looks like I've managed to build - of all things - a nose-sitter !!! Many hours were spent trying to decide whether to extend the oleo, or cut off the stalk and introduce a plastic bar under it, before hitting on the perfect hi-tech solution..... stand the front wheels on a blob of blu-tac ! Edited July 31, 2017 by IanHx bad auto-complete ! Stop changing words !
