camper1
Hi Folks This one painted as the personal aircraft of of Sir Richard Atcheley and assigned to12 group Comm Flt in July 1953. This Air Vice Marshall had at least two aircraft for his 'personal use',the other being WK818. The nose decals were home made and the rest cobbled up from generic sheets, painted with Xtracolor paint. I found it odd that the inside of the intakes were painted green but there is a head on photo in Cold War Shield that shows it . Ian

Silver Fox
That is an unusual Meteor, nice find on the scheme and the model is up to your normal excellent standards. Must drag mine out of the loft and get it started.

Jon Kunac-Tabinor
Nice one Ian - great scheme. If you'd waited about another 4 weeks- you'd have been able to model this scheme without scrabbling around in the spare decal box Jonners
mcdonnell
Hello,Ian - Another splendid looking build and this time of one of the types I know is very special to you. Your chosen scheme is also very eye-catching too. Like myself,I know you're a fan of Enamel Paints.May I ask what your preferred Varnish Paints are? Hope to see you at Huddersfield Show. 😉👍 All the very best,Paul.
camper1
Hi Paul I use Galeria gloss and matt artists acrylics. These are easy to mix and thin down very well and spray easily. Normal thinners don't work well with these so I use the manufactures thinner. The big bottles 330ml I think cost around £8 and have lasted me nearly 2 years now. See you at Hudderfield Cheers Ian

I've heard of these acrylic varnishes.Obviously they behave okay when applied over the enamel colours?

Meatbox8
That's a very smart looking Meteor in a scheme I haven't come across before. A beautifully smooth finish. I wonder if any AVMs will be given an F-35B as a runaround.

Latinbear
Love the paint scheme. Nice to see something different. Can you imagine an air marshal today having his "own" Typhoon or Hawk let alone two of them.
