sven_ss
Wolf-Dietrich Huy, (2 August 1917-13 July 2003) was a German Luftwaffe ace and one of the pilots decorated with the Iron Cross during World War II. Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross and its higher grade Oak Leaves was awarded to recognize extreme courage in battle and its military leadership. In August 1942 he returned to JG 77 after recovering from his wounds, and shortly after his unit was transferred to North Africa. October 28, 1942 he shot down his first Spitfire Egypt. Huy was shot down by a Supermarine Spitfire Vc of No. 601 Squadron, piloted by P / O JH Nicholls (an additional 7-kill ace) October 29, 1942 on the area of El Alamein. He survived the crash and spent the rest of World War II as a prisoner of war. Source: Wikipedia The kit is the familiar AZ Model, here in the G2-R6 version. Apart from the cowling too thin (in profile) and canopy narrower than the fuselage I'm not aware of any other errors / problems. For coloring I chose to follow the AZ instructions: RLM 70/71/83 trunk of lower tail / 76, white band in the fuselage, white wing tips.
