Mitsubishi A6M5 ' Zero ' ; 1/72 Tamiya

Recommended Posts

My first zero , the airfix 72nd kit ,  was a neat and tidy little model .  I considered it was only fair that I weather this one and do so thoroughly !  The model is intended to depict a machine as may be found in a museum or collection still in its original paint job .  The entire airframe was painted NMF before chipping it .  The kit is extraordinary , it is a pity one cannot see much inside the cockpit but it puts resin aftermarket to shame .  I hope you enjoy my attempt at the "weathered Japanese airplane" stereotype :)

The paint scheme I believe depicts an airplane as seen in some movie , I suspect it may be fiction but I still opted for it because the white bands lends some contrast to the model . The seat belts are some generic items I have and not likely accurate for a zero .
