Janremco
Looking good already Bosse. Your builds go pretty fast, so maybe you have the project finished before summer. Jan Remco
Marlin
Thanks Jan. I got three, almost four, full days at the worktable last week. If I could get that much free time every month maybe, but I don't think so. And I've decided to expand the build with just not only a Syrian MiG-19. I'll also add an Algerian MiG-17 to it. /Bosse

Marlin
Hi. I got some gaps on the underside. Nothing serious. I just filled them with a small plasticard strip and a heavy dose of Tamiya Extra Thin. It seems to have worked. I got the same problem with the fin as I had on one of the wings. It's a bit short at the trailing edge. So out with the plasticard again and glue a small strip and a new heavy dose of Tamiya Extra Thin. The plan for tonight and the weekend is to get the wings on. To be continued..... /Bosse

Marlin
Hi. I got one wing in place last evening. I had to fill with different plasticard strips all over the joint. But I think it'll look good after the sanding and putty session. I also did some detail painting on the cockpit for the Hunter. So now it's soon time for No.4. Which one should I take?, Mig-21, Fouga Magister or Mirage III? To be continued.... /Bosse
Janremco
Lots of work going on Bosse. I just hope you don't get confused with all the 4 builds in progress. Good work on all the small joints. Jan Remco.
Marlin
Thanks Jan. I've got my desk rather nice organized so that shouldn't be a problem. Each kit got it's own little box for small parts and I've also got a chest of drawers beside the table where I can store two kit in each drawer. I only just have to remember to put everything in the right place when I switch kits...... /Bosse
bbudde
I would be very pleased with Mirage III. I don't know, if you'll use Pe on that. Eduard had a good set fixing all the lack of detail on the visible areas. Marlin
Thanks bbudde. I got just that set, and some other thing, enroute from Hannants. Please stay tuned... /Bosse
Marlin
Hi. Despite a rather busy weekend I've managed to get both wings on the SMB.2 And I've started to fil the seam. The plan for this week I guess is the great sanding and puttying session. If I can find the time I'll try and close up the Hunter as well. Marlin
Hi. I'm pleased to announce that I've managed to get the wing joints sanded and puttied to my satisfaction. Plasticard and PPP worked perfectly. I painted the seams with a matt light gray colour to see a little better. And to me it looks like I don't have to putty some more. Now I got to get the air intake inplace. So some more sanding and puttying is called for. I also have to add the inner gear doors since they were always closed on the groud. Marlin
Hi. This is what I did during the weekend. The fuselage of the Hunter is glued, and I've glued one wing to the airframe. Academy have choosen a very different wing joint from what I'm used to. So it's good that I have enough clamps to hold the parts while the glue sets. The SMB has got one of it's wheel covers on. I had to bend it into shape, and force it down with some clamps. There are going to be a fair amount of sanding around here later on. While these two was drying I continued on the Alouette. All the interior bits are in place now. The plan for the week is to get the other wing on to the Hunter, the wheel covers on the SMB, and to start the engine works on the Alouette. Janremco
You've got lots of patience Bosse with all the putty and sanding sessions. Nice work onnthe seatbelts of the Allouette. Jan Remco
Marlin
Thanks Jan. I find these short run kits rather satisfying to build. I know they take more effort and time, but in the end I'm more delighted when I've done a seam right on one of these compared when I've glued a wunderkit together. /Bosse
Marlin
Hi. This is what I managed to produce during the weekend. The SMB have got some more putty. I unfortunatelly got one of the wheel covers to low and had to use a fair amount of putty to even it out. The Hunter has also got some putty on it. And when these two were drying I only intended to look in the Eduard MiG box. But some how the bags were opended and the spruecutter was in my hand and I'd glued two R-3S missiles, nose wheelwell and a droptank I even sprayed the missiles with white primer. Brushpainting white isn't something I like to do, so when it come to white, it'll come from a spraycan. And with that start the MiG will be No4 in this build. I continued with the wheel wells and the cockpit parts. I've primed them with my favourite primer Humbrol 140. After that I did the fin and lower part of the wing. And suddenly it had become evening and I put my MiG to bed. All my ongoing build have one of these small plastic boxes, for small parts and subassemblies. That way I don't mix them up when I go from one build to another. To be continued.... /Bosse
John_W
The Eduard Mig must be a relief after the Mystere and the Hunter.
Marlin
Thanks John_W. It sure is. Eduards MiG is one of my favorite kits. This is the third one so far that I've built, but I got several more in the stash that will come later on. /Bosse

I fear for your obscure and difficult kits!

Marlin
Hi. Spring has arrived in my part of the world. So this weekend we opened our summercottage for the season. And what a weekend we got. It's hard to motivate modelbuilding when you get this kind of weather after a long winter. So we planted some springflowers instead. And when the sun came round on to our terrace it got very nice. +23 C in march ! This called for a coffebreak. Normal build pictures will have to wait until tomorrow. Marlin
Hi. This time I'll show you my progress so far. The work with the MiG are continuing according to plan. There is quite a lot of small parts to paint before I can start building it. The cockpit part are painted with AKAN lovely turquoise. I choose the un-faded version considering that the PFM was delivered to Egypt less than a year before the outbreak of the war. I plan to build the cockpit during the next couple of days. I've reached the paint stage with the Hunter and the SMB.2 Both have had two coats of Humbrol 140 so that the Xtracolor coats have something to bite in to. I've started with the underside on both of them. To be continued..... /Bosse
